Sprint rolls out Mogul EV-DO Rev. A upgrade right on time
Or several months late, depending on how you look at. Regardless of your perspective, the new ROM is here and ready for you download pleasure. Sprint and HTC quietly released a new ROM for the HTC Mogul this morning, ending months of speculation and despair, though confirming our suspicions at the same time. The big news here is that the new ROM does, in fact, include the promise upgrade to EV-DO Rev. A speeds. That should be a huge upgrade for anyone that has been using their Mogul as a tethered modem, in addition to providing significant enhancements to on-device browsing speed. The other big news, however, is that the rumored enabling of the on-board GPS is nowhere to be found. Not to sound ungrateful here, but how hard can it really be, Sprint? Either way, the new ROM is now available for download from the HTC site if you’re so inclined.
UPDATE: As several of you have pointed out, it looks like the GPS functionality is, in fact, included. Nice job, Sprint. You can get the actual ROM right here
I don’t know what ROM you downloaded or where you heard GPS was not included… but it is and it works perfectly.

Where is this update avaliable at? I checked HTC’s website and it still shows that the ROM update will be avaliable 1Q08.
OK – am I blonde? The Mogul support page I see still shows ROM 2.17.651.0. That came out back in November ‘07. Anyone?

Am I the only one getting a Corrupt file warning every time I try and unpack it?

For what it’s worth, I downloaded from the Howard Forums link and everything went smoothly.
Just run the .exe and do not try to extract it and it will run fine.

Worked great, downloaded it from howardforums. I noticed the download speed of the google maps app to be a little faster. Also, using google maps, GPS got a fix in seconds. Looks good so far…
Josh Karp seems to have a real disposition towards Sprint. He’s always quick to jump onto the negative… We all knew Sprint was releasing GPS in this rom because the beta release had it all along as well (you know, Josh, the one that you mistakenly said had WM6.1 on it? That was a Rev A & GPS enable release).
Dumb ? time ..i downloaded the rom,
got the rev a & gps yadda yadda ….am i suposed to see the diffrence in speeds?
