Mystery Nokia RM-324 Appears on FCC Site; Packs US HSDPA
Precious little is known about the mysterious Nokia handset that popped up on the FCC site yesterday, but what we do know is incredibly intriguing. For the time being all we have is a product code, RM-324, and a few details. Those details; it will pack AT&T-compatible US 3G / HSDPA, it will have a beefy 1500 mAh battery and it will have a flip form factor. Woo hoo! That’s right Nokia, keep pouring on the US love. We told you that 2008 was going to be a big year for Nokia in the US and so far there has been plenty to support that claim. Some amazing handsets have already been announced, US 3G / HSDPA is popping up on more new devices and it even looks like carriers are getting in on the action. 2007 wasn’t a great year for Nokia in the US and it looks like the Finnish phenom is pulling out the big guns. What do you guys think, will 2008 be the year that Symbain’s US market share begins to reflect its position as the global heavyweight champ?

No, although I like symbian but there are three words that will keep them down: Blackberry, Apple and Android. I would bet on any one of those to gain ground over Nokia at this point.

It really doesn’t matter by the time Nokia gets this phone or any other 3g US phone to the market it will be obsolete. Any one remember the N75 and long that phone took to get to market. Also, the N95 8GB US 3g version still not available. It’s amazing that Apple can get a phone to market on time and will most likely have the 3g iPhone out before any of the new Nokia’s. PS.. was in Chicago this weekend trying to spend money on a new phone at the Nokia store but couldn’t justify any of the Nokia phones when I have an iPhone (not the best but getting better with each update) and a Blackberry Curve.

Nokia is the shit and always has been, I don’t see why you assholes are hating on them, without Nokia your precious p.o.s. iPhone wouldn’t be here. Without Nokia we wouldn’t have any damn phones. So stop your bitching and shove your stupid iPhones where they belong…UP YOUR ASS!!!!

@Jeff B.
As a longtime Nokia fanboy, I can say without a doubt, the OS (Symbian) is a piece of shit. When was the last time the OS didn’t shut down or freeze or lag, c’mon. The iPhone if it had 3G would be hands down the number one phone, until then I have my blackberry.

I highly doubt it would be number one because people like me and lots of other REAL tech heads who still build our own computers and give ourselves viruses so we can figure out how to kill them don’t like the companies telling us every time “now this is how you move it and this is the only place you can put it and this is…” it’s annoying and stupid this is why there’s real smartphones with WinMo on them. It’s so us REAL tech heads who still build our own computers don’t feel like our computer world is going to shit with stuff (ex. all of apple) that’s built for a retard to use it (no offense).

Dtest,
It is every once in a while I might but this is just ridiculous I mean you have to agree that without Nokia most of our phones wouldn’t be here, they were like the first…in a sense…and the best.

I agree that they did alot of things first and pretty well, but so did ericson (sp?) and motorola. I would put all three in that category. and Nokia is still great they just dont want to force entry back into the US as they are doing very very well in the rest of the world.
