T-Mobile USA Releases Q4 and Full 2007 Results

T-Mobile USA today announced its results for Q4 / full year 2007 and as we could have told you, it’s been a good year for the nation’s second largest GSM carrier. Nearly all key figures in Q4 were up nicely from Q3 and growth above fourth quarter 2006 is pretty substantial.
Q4 2007 highlights:
- 951,000 new customers added
- myFaves subscribers up by 1.5 million above Q3 2007
- Revenues totaled $5.07 billion, up from $4.89 billion in Q3 2007
- Net income dropped to $383 million, down from $526 million in Q3 2007 but up from $176 million in Q4 2006
- Customer contract churn dropped to 1.8%, down 2% compared to Q3 2007
- 900 new cell sites were added, bringing total US cell sites to 37,900
A good year indeed. Net income dropped off a bit from Q3 but $383 million is well over twice the carrier’s reported net earnings in Q4 of 2006. Almost a million new subscribers in Q4 brings T-Mobile’s total for 2007 to a respectable 3.6 million. The carrier also announced its acquisition of SunCom Wireless, finalized last week, which was no small deal of course. Growth is steady for T-Mobile, myFaves continues to draw interest, and margins are a healthy 30%. Go T-Mo go!

I’m a old T-mobile to Go customer (Nov 05) that recently changed to contract (Jan 08) and I can honestly say that I have no problems with Tmobile. They just seemed the likely and more affordable choice when it came to Blackberry BIS service!!!

T-mo is still new to the waters in the US, initially they will be affordable until they get more subscribers or steady to decline in revenue and net adds, and prices will increase to stay afloat

Well until then, I will be all about T-Mo! If they ever do get rates that are as high as AT&T, then I will switch. But I love saving at least $25 per month for my BlackBerry Service.

Went from sprint who cant keep customers or a profit to tmobile who keeps adding money and customers. Keep it going.

That’s what I’m talking about! I’ve been a Tmobile corporate sales rep for almost 2 yrs, and believe me when I say that the trend will continue with the acquisition of Suncom and our 3g upgrade sometime midyear! I’m proud to be in the Tmob!

Just wait until the end of 2008 and you won’t be saying that about TMO but everyone else.

Yeah Yeah Yeah….I respect T-Mo’s Hustle but I will respect it more when they finally give me the 3G network I’ve been waiting for. I know its supposed to be this summer but I will believe it when I see it.

I love the fact that they’re the cheapest service out there which is why I’ve been loyal. Only thing that frustrates me is the # of new phones they release. AT&T has by far the best phones in the market and a new one comes out like monthly. Tmo’s new phones are introduced at a snail’s pace. And can they stop releasing a new sidekick every 10 days?!?!

Way to go, T-Mobile!! Your service is awesome but your phones currently suck some ass.

Surprisingly, T-Mo really does have solid phones recently, and when all those Nokia phones come on board later this summer, it gets even better.

T-Mo is a great company with great service in Boston. I would not have swirched if they had better phones and 3G like they do overseas. Until then i will stay with att. But, I’m still waiting for that time where they will rise to the top.
