Would you like some diamonds with that Pearl?

You know the drill…and this diamond-encrusted BlackBerry Pearl is no exception. Sure, it’s outdated technology, especially given the fact that it’s a soon to be outdated 8100, and sure you could probably drop $90,000 in more socially responsible ways, but it’s just…so….shiny. To our credit, not only do you get  a boatload (900 stones, 12 carats to be exact) of tiny diamonds, but you also get a bit of 18k white gold as well. We’re now on the lookout for that special BGR edition, diamond-encrusted BlackBerry 9xxx with OS 4.5. Stay tuned!

Well, that’s actually the 8120, which isn’t even available in the US yet.

Still a complete waste of money, though.

What is considered a “waste of money” is all relative to how much money you have. Someone that tries to make it on minimum wage would say that spending their hard earned cash on a BlackBerry and paying data is a waste of money because they don’t have it to spend. Someone that doesn’t have $90,000 in play money would think that this is a waste. But, I have enough money to easily afford a BB and data, so its no big deal. Just like if I had enough money to get a lavish piece of hardware it too would not be a big deal. I don’t like diamonds though, but if I had the cash I can see forking over this much money as an accessory piece.

@Chuch the 8120 is availabe in the US Suncom is the only carier that sells them but that phone looks like a T-mobile 8100 and I don’t see the spot on the side for the micro-SD card.

This is the 8120 genius. You can tell because of the buttons to the left and right of the trackball … they are taller than the 8100. And the card slot is on the other side not shown in the picture. Its on the side with the data/charge port.
