I AM SO TIRED OF STUPID PEOPLE SAYING “STOP WHINING ABOUT DRIVERS YOU WERE NEVER PROMISED.” I have 2 ATT Tilts which are missing the video drivers. Aside from HTC press release anouncing there partnership with QUALCOMM and going on about their dual core processors and “enriched multimedia experience, I seen more on the box at my time of purchase. On the side of the Tilt Box it says,”Device Specifications:” 6 bulleted items define various cool things and the seventh which is truely breath taking or was I should say, Lists -QUALCOMM Dual Core 400Mhz Processor. Now, I don’t know what kind of crack the people who think the drivers is no big deal are smoking but, IT MUST BE GOOD. In reading this on the box, I would expect both cores of a Dual Core processor to work. HUMMMMM, But what do I know, Im not on crack. Do you buy a laptop or desktop with only one core working. Come on people go to rehab if its to hard for you to understand falsification in advertising. GOTO college and study business but stop smashing peoples opinions just because you don’t get it. F–K HI Tech Computer Corporation (HTC).

This is a joke. Screw The Sony Ericson Xperia X1. As I stated here and on many other websites I would no longer purchase devices made my HTC. This device is a product of HTC. Screw HTC, Screw Sony Ericson and Screw HP long with all the other companies that have HTC manufacturer their devices. I guess that means I just want buy Smartphone or PDA’s anymore. Oh well time to switch to UMPC’s anyways. Too bad HTC made the SHIFT(UMPC).

I really like the look of the phone and it could definitely stop me from getting the next 3G iPhone to replace my current Treo. I just wish it was a little thinner.

Size Comparison:
Treo 750: 4.44 x 2.3 x 0.8 inches 5.4 oz
iPhone: 4.5 x 2.4 x 0.46 inches 4.8 oz
Xperia X1: 4.3 x 2.1 x 0.7 inches 5.1 oz

I guess I will refrain from my final decision until I can actually hold one in my hand.

No, there are no UI changes from WM6 Pro to WM6.1. If you’re up to using unofficial ROMs, xda devs have put up the unofficial 6.1 roms for the Kaiser, Touch, Hermes and many more.

In one of the many videos that came out of Barcelona, a SE rep specificaly mentioned that the Xperia had 3D acceleration from ATI. The video drivers that everybody is so worried about should be included. I would also add that the MSM7200a is the 65nm version of the MSM7200 so you get the speed boost from 400MHz to 528Mhz and you should also get better battery life.

So it’s running on Qualcomm’s next-gen 7200-X chip which has even better 2D/3D acceleration.

Maybe this is called 7200-1.0 and everything else was just ALPHA.

The WM 6.1 walkthrough BGR posted in december was for WM 6.1 Standard, doesn’t this phone run WM 6.1 Professional, and aren’t there no UI changed to WM 6.1 professional from 6.0?

I find it interesting that it sports a Qualcomm chipset. Aren’t they in heavy litigation with Broadcom where the judge ruled that Qualcomm stole Ip from Broadcom concerning battery life and these devices will be banned from getting to US shores?

Although the P5i is a great concept phone, and so far that’s what it is. The design and style of the X1 have it for me. Never been a big fan of P series from SE, the form factor and design/size is just too big.

I’m hoping to see the real P5i, IF it is actually real.

Somebody had previously asked (I don’t know if it was on a previously post of this phone or on Engadget) but some asked if this phone’s screen was glass (like the iPhone) or still kinda squishy like the standard HTC touch faces. This looks like the latter and I was hoping for the former.

tnkgrl is right, if you go back to the site hosting the pics, on the shot with the battery and cover out you can see what looks to be flash bulb on to the left of the camera lens.

Must be the flash for the phone as the look of it resembles very closely to other phone flash units.

Hmmm… On the photos you linked to, there’s what appears to be a flash LED next to the camera lens!

Perhaps the flash didn’t fire on when used on this demo unit, but it sure looks like there’s a flash.
