AT&T Tilt ROM update to be released today?

According to WMExperts, we should see a ROM update for the AT&T Tilt, aka HTC TyTN II, by the end of today, February 15th. The new ROM isn’t expected to include any life changing upgrades or new features, but should sport a number of bug fixes and small enhancements, including fixes for:

  • Device freezing during unlock process when a password is enabled on the device.
  • Pocket Outlook unresponsive when launched while on an active voice call.
  • Fast Forward and Rewind not working with Bluetooth headset and the Tilt.
  • DTMF tones for the slide out QWERTY keyboard not working.
  • Intermittent unresponsiveness from Touch Screen (aka Start Button Issue).
  • Excessive background noise while using a BT headset.

We will also be seeing a new version of Blackberry Connect. This new ROM will be version 1.62.502.0. Before you get too excited, note that this isn’t the much-anticipated Windows Mobile 6.1 upgrade, but if you’ve been plagued by any of the issues noted above, it should be a bit of a relief nonetheless.

That’s all well and good, but I’m waiting for some updated video drivers. What good is a 3 megapixel camera if the screen lag is so extreme.

Careful about using the link above to download the HTC ROM uppdate. Be certain to backup all of your files. The HTC site indicates that this update will delete music, pictures, 3rd party apps, etc. in the process, which will take at least 10 minutes. Failure to do so will mean permanent loss of those.

Related to the camera – do some looking at XDA developers – they have 2 .cab files that really make a big difference in camera performance!

why did the Rom update to the Att Tilt remove the security protocol choices for data encryption on any wireless network. Before the update i was able to use any (WPA , WpA2, radius) to connect to my networks. Now I am limited to WEP, and if you know anything about data encryption you will agree that this is far below what is needed to protect a network.

Please help me resolve this problem brought on by the update of the ROM on my Att Tilt

Anyone know how to correct the sound problems with the AT & T Tilt and the car stereo bluetooth? I have an aftermarket Jensen stereo .. and it works fine with my husband’s Q- but the sound quality with the Tilt is awful. People complain of the echo, and that i sound crackly and “underwater”. Any ideas? Also- any other cool sites to download fun upgrades and changes for the tilt?
    Thanks,
    Shanley

Can anyone post a working link to the firmware? Every link posted on every site I have checked just goes back to the main HTC page. Going to the support section on their page, I can find a software downloads section, which takes me absolutely nowhere.
