BlackBerry 8820 goes T-Mobile. Again.

We so know this isn’t a huge deal, but for those that are waiting for it, it might be nice to see some more confirmation. The BlackBerry 8820 will indeed be heading to T-Mobile on March 5th as we’ve previously reported. Nothing has changed since then, with the device sporting the Hotspot@Home Wi-Fi calling, GPS, and the usual BlackBerry 8800 features. Midnight blue is the color this time around (wasn’t that Cingular’s color?), but with the leaked slide highlighting "High-speed internet", we’ve got to wonder what T-Mobile has up its sleeve…Ah, never mind! They mean Wi-Fi is high speed! It would be silly to think their network was actually high-speed.

Why the heck don’t they just release the Kaiser? I’ve been using a Kaiser on the US Tmobile network for several months now. Flawless device.

The 8800 on T-Mobile was geared to business-end users. The Curve was to be the general “crowd pleaser,” which I think it did successfully. I don’t think many customers are going to jump for this devise. I bet you see it in the hands of a lot of small business users and the like, because of the lack of camera. The added Wi-Fi is great for them, especially if they’re in an office or location which cannot get signal strength but can rely on the wireless internet provided in such places.

P.S., it’s a lighter shade blue than Cingular’s, and it is supposed to match the Pearl’s midnight blue.

Judging by the new Xperia announced at MWC today with the coveted 1700mHz tmo 3g band the kaiser might not see the light of day anytime soon. I’ve been with tmo for years and they are going to have to step it up in the hardware dept or I will have to keep buying my devices unlocked…xperia looks completely SICK though!!!!

I love it when T-Mo expands their BlackBerry and HotSpot@Home (now “Talk Forever”) line up, but why would anyone want the 8820 over the 8320? The 83XX series is smaller, has a better keyboard, better looking (no gold please) and has a good camera. Yes yes, GPS, but with Google My Location (not perfect but… better than not having WiFi) I’d always pick my 8320 over the 8820. I do hear from a friend at RIM that the 8820 has a better processor, but I’ve never seen the specs.

Sorry to be the (potential) bearer of bad news, but the new rumors around the 8120 are that it has been delayed, again, till sometime in April.

I know, I hope they are wrong too. The 8120 will be my first new phone in… well a ridiculously long time that I don’t want to reveal here. These delays are slowly pushing me towards getting the curve despite the bigger size and the fact I really don’t think I need full QWERTY.

I will probably pick one of these up to tie me through until the 9000 series comes out. And speaking of the Pearl 2, are they going to come in a whole scheme of colors like the 8100’s?

PS Nikolaus I just happen to like the gold Curve (as I’m using as we speak). Why do you not like it.

PPS Boy Genius can you get some more pics posted on the 8820? I would like to see more detail on it, especially the new color scheme.

notice how tmobile is out of stock on the pearl red and blue on the site. I think this means there ready to come out with the upgrade. Or your rumor is true and they cant sell enough of the old ones to come out with the new ones
