Samsung G810 to Butt Heads with Nokia N95
Samsung is said to be preparing to drop a pretty major bomb on Mobile World Congress next week and from the sound of things, hopefully Nokia will be paying attention. Nokia’s flagship handset, the N95, could soon be getting a serious run for its money which means that the Finnish manufacturer may actually have to start releasing new handsets as opposed to constantly re-releasing the N95. The Symbian-powered Samsung G810 looks to feature a much more attractive design and specs that may trump the Nseries beast as well. This sleek black slider reportedly packs a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus and macro mode just like the N95, but throws 3x optical zoom, anti-shake and face recognition into the mix. Integrated GPS, 150MB of internal memory, 802.11b/g and a 1200 mAh battery are among the additional specs currently available. Compatible frequencies aren’t yet known, but the G810 is said to feature UMTS / 3.6 Mbps HSDPA. The only thing that might ruin the party for us is if Samsung stays true to form and omits 850 Mhz. Oh and there’s just one more problem; how does a €580 ($860) price tag sound?

I’m not really a huge samsung fan but if this unit has anything close to the specs I’m ready that might change!
for get this, i’ll g for the N95 8GB, much better, carl zeinz lens and all.
was wishing this was WM6
I won’t buy a phone that is missing a band or some other functionality that should be there by default on a device that costly.
Looks like they are pulling a Nokia. Release a awesome device (outside of the US) that that cannot work to full potential in the US. Wait 6-12 months (for no real reason,) and then release a US-centric version.
Samsung: please don’t do that!
good point randy
wel lets see, Nokia sell 95% of their devices outside the US. Do you think they should go out of their way to cater to the US? I think last year they made plenty of money doing what they do. No company the size of Nokia or Samsung release devices without doing their research and targeting their customers, if its not for you then buy something else.
What’s it with the hideous phones today?
Let’s see some competition.
this phone is so ugly and i think that samsung have let themselves down by making this phone. apart from the iphone, samsung do make good quality phone but this 1 is just plain ugly.
u have let yourselves down samsung
