Hi my name is David and I’m a sophmore in college. Im a true geek at heart but I can never afford anything because I never have enough money. The spirit is willing, but the pocket is always empty lol. My parents emigrated to the U.S. years ago when I was little, both of them working 3 jobs or more at a time. We had no one when we came here, and my parents made miserable money by being janitors or working graveyard shifts as security guards since they didn’t speak english. Now, Im the first to go to college in my family and when I should be envious about the oppurtunities or money that other students have, I smile inside because Im going to college full ride which I worked hard to earn my 4.000 in highschool. I settle for using the schools lab computers to print my stuff, but sometimes it gets difficult having to do online quizzes and not having internet or a comp at home. I love the site and I love how your offering this. Hopefully my message reaches out to you guys. I can tell you much more about what I’ve gone through in my life so far as getting to where I have. Having a laptop, one so elegant would make my world–seriously!!
I wish I could afford even a first gen ipod, but having milk in the fridge is more important, and education expenses take priority over any things I “want.” If I can work for this in any way I will. I can’t work now cause they would take away my financial aid. I love Apple and I love macs, and sometimes I spend hours in the Apple Store gazing at them in all their beauty. Thanks guys, I hope someone who deserves it wins. I know there are more deserving people than me, but I sure as hell would put it to good use at school! Take it with me wherever I go! ^-^
