iPhone goes corporate on AT&T, we told ya so!

Not that there was any doubt about this, but AT&T is now officially letting all you corporate freaks get your iPhones. The lowest plan is $45/month with 200 text messages, and the highest data plan is for $65/month with unlimited texts and all the usual iPhone stuff we’re used to. There’s a couple international roaming data plans at $24.99 and $59.99 as well. Oh bother, no Exchange support yet?

Does this mean since its going corp we get our corp discount? I get 50% off all ATT phones, except the iphone. If corp employees get the typical discount its would be great. I tried a number of times and they (ATT) would only seel me an iphone if I open a new acct. not associated with my FAN account.

Everyone one knows the criticisms of the device.
Plenty of great things in there though that outweigh those for many people.

Wrong Galvy. Our IT dept just sent out an email notifying us that they are switching us all over from Blackberrys to iphones starting next month.

Your Apple hating is not going to stop anything.

why does this cost more for corporate? With blackberry personal vs business plans, you get BES integration with the more expensive business plan. What is the advantage of getting on a corporate plan?

I think the cart got before the horse on this on — i.e., they haven’t yet made the Lotus announcement. Which probably accounts for why it is so much more expensive than the consumer data. For consumer data, you get your gmail and yahoo. And for the entereprise data price, you can get lotus. That’s the only thing that could explain the difference in price consumer vs. corporate.

I think the prices are outrageous… I can get an aircard for 59.99 and use it anywhere with my laptop. I couldnt see paying $65 for unlimited data and text on my iPhone.

I just called AT&T to get more information on this. For my company (international transportation service), it does not appear as available– someone wanna post that URL?

This is a good and positive move for Apple & at&t. I think everyone agrees that a little 3G, Exchange and GPS love are needed here. The good news is that with out a doubt they are coming either as upgrades to this model or on future models.

It sounds like this would be a good move but the software keyboard is such a sketchy move since some people love it and some people hate it so it seems that businesses would be getting a lot of requests to change back to a BB from an iPhone just for the keyboard.

the onscreen keyboard is not the best for me for work stuff. a static keyboard that you can ‘feel’ does a better job.
