SlingMedia’s SlingPlayer on iPhone: busted, for now

We kind of told you this yesterday, but we’ve just received exclusive confirmation from Sling directly. Sling Media has not received any sort of iPhone SDK and while we’ve been told they are exploring options, nothing is confirmed. Here’s what company spokesman Dave Zatz had to say: "The iPhone is an exciting platform and we’re anxious to check out the SDK when it’s made available." So don’t get your hopes up just yet. That might all change after MacWorld, though.

    this WILL NOT happen
consider this: it eats vast amount of data even with EDGE
with average 150kbps, you can get nearly 200MB in 2-3 hours, that means you can hit 5GB easily, that at&t will kiss your (beep) because of that

I’ve run SlingPlayer on my AT&T Tilt for several months, and they haven’t kissed me yet. Ran it on my Verizon Q for 2 years, and they didn’t kiss me either. It’s the main reason I have a Tilt and not an iPhone (that, and lack of corporate email/calendar support).
