i work for a wireless company and i had a customer come in with an iphone with this chip. it does work his works perfectly fine with it.

Check Hackint0sh.org before you go purchasing these.
There are much…much better solutions out there.
May not be as cheap as 45.00, but you will get something that works.

Yupp.. these have been around for a long while…

They seem to work quite well from the info i have seen on hackint0sh. I will consider purchasing some sort of *sim when 1.1.3 comes out. That is if this solution still works with that firmware..

I gotta get me some of that triangulation love…

Kingsim, Stealthsim, XSim, etc are basically the same thing. There are different generations/versions of the same concept. The original one was the TurboSim made by Bladox that is a programmable PIC that interfaces with the SIM and the phone.

These cheaper models are not upgradeable but they do work. $45 is cheap, they were around $100 a couple of weeks ago. I bought some of these (they look the same) and they work fine with most SIM cards. The main problem with some is aligning them with some SIM cards. If it moves the phone will say “No SIM” and you need to re-position the whole thing.

Your very late, these have been around for ages. They are called *sim on most sites because there are so many models. StealthSim is one for example, they do work but are very expensive for what they are and the sim card needs to be cut to fit onto the *sim.

Some guy is selling these exact chips on Craigslist here in Denver. Calling these Sonic Sim. $80 and he unlocks them right in front of you, I was skeptical to but he claims it works with the brand new boot loader version. So ehhh…
