Nokia N95 8GB US hands-on!
What happens when you cram 8 gigs of storage into a Nokia N95? Oh, and how about some American 3G support? Yeah, we thought you’d like that. Bigger screen? Sexy black case? Not bad at all. The US version of the Nokia N95 8GB has been rumored for quite a while, but this is the first we’ve seen of an actual working version. The screen is up to 2.8 inches from the peasent version’s 2.6 inches. The device of course sports 8 gigs of internal memory, though it does away with the smaller version’s microSD slot in the process. What you will get, however, is honest to God support for American 3G bands. Not freakin bad. We prefer the external finish of this one to the original’s as well, so if you can stomach the $749 price tag, we suggest you wait until later this quarter and buy one of your very own. Just remember since the 8GB is internal, the transfer speeds are much slower than you’ll get on an external microSD card. Hit the gallery!

It’s very nice but I think the Camry just insulted Nokia. I mean they could’ve done one better and gotten a Tacoma TRD Sport…or a Ferrari…they’ve got the money…

Why are internal speeds slower than an external card. That doesn’t seem to make sense.

I am waiting for my pre production model from when my boss gets back from CES. I am really sick of the N95 slider but until the next US 3G QWERTY phones come out, I guess this is the best choice.

I do not understand the hype on this. If it aims to be top of the range, it needs bigger screen and qwerty. (3G quad band is basic)

medici - The hype? Is the best most capable phone you can buy at the moment. Most people dont want qwerty, I certainly dont need it. If you want qwerty get a black berry or a fat pda!

its hsppened so many apps and what u can do to “make it ur own” is amazing…once u go symbian u cant go back. but i do hope they simplify the ui, takes too many clicks to get stuff dun sometimes but i have a winmo phone and a n80 so i can tell. but winmo 7 looks awesome. i wonder what symbian/nokia will do to keep up

I can only imagine the battery life on this sucker. I bet you’d have to charge it every 6-8 hours….
