The Vodafone Windows Mobile roadmap!

It was quite the day for Windows Mobile yesterday, wasn"t it? To visually show you how each device fits into Vodafone’s lineup, we’ve got the Windows Mobile roadmap for you right here to check out. Something interesting is the mention of a Windows Mobile "tablet" device with HSDPA around the middle of Q2. HTC Shift, anyone? There’s also a unknown HSDPA slider with Wi-Fi and GPS set to debut around the same time.

Palm need to sort out their product names, they’re starting to sound like they’ve let the fanboys name their phones!

I am going to have to give it to windows mobile - they are really coming a long way and doing so nicely. I remember when they first came on the market, and where very slow and sluggish. I thought PalmOS would rule the day in the US, and Symbian would take over everywhere else. Was I wrong! Watching the mobile platform growth is exciting.

And as a WM6 owner, I love the exciting cutting edge features such as still “not” being able to cut and paste.

Windows Mobile is a POS and a PITA on a mobile phone, the interface is horrible to use and I would and will dump it in a heartbeat as soon as something good comes along that I can sync properly with exchange wirelessly (Android?)

Microsoft: FIX WM7 interface or stop trying!
and for the love of god please put more ram into these devices so they don’t constantly run out of memory… for real how much $$ does it cost to ad 1GB ram???

I count over a dozen devices on that chart. And though it makes for interesting reading, personally I need -a- device. And after putting up with Windows Mobile for about a decade, the answer for me is iPhone.

Each year they sell twice as much as the previous year, so they need to stop why?

I wanted a major palm redesign, it gives my treo 650 some retro cred, and makes the myriad accessories cheaper.

Cut & Paste on Win Mobile can be done ages ago.
iPhone does not even search for Contacts.
To clear Memory and have a nicer UI, same functions but more intuitive can use a 3rd party software like:

Thats the problem about leaked roadmaps!
Roadmaps are internal papers and not for public eyes. Do you think that they decide one month in front “oh we need a new phone, lets take this”??

They plan a whole year in front at least, so no wonder we have to wait until these phones are released…
