Nope, we’re not talking about a tree here! It looks as if the HP Silver won’t be the only HP handset sporting some HSUPA action. You now have a pretty decent line, with the Standard version, and now the Professional one making the rounds. The HP Oak sports a nifty slide-out QWERTY keyboard with a traditional number pad on the front, in addition to integrated GPS and Wi-Fi. We’re not really judging here, but it looks like you might have some difficulty with that 1010mAh battery. Release date? Thought you’d never ask! September, guys. It’s a long way to go, and ₤260 couldn’t come soon enough. Whittle the HP Oak, so to speak, after the jump!

Um, what makes this different from any of the other sliding keyboard/WinME phones out there, other than the HP logo. It’s not like Apple with the iPhone, where there is a proven track record of making a popular, easy to use consumer device. HP as ZERO experience in this market (unless you count their rebranding of Apple’s iPod…)

The real downer for this device is going to be the battery life. It looks good, but a camera and video capabilities will really help it. Sure HP doesnt have a lot of experience in the media-phone realm, but hey if the build is good, it looks good, maybe it can be good…(heres to wishful thinking)

If they have a case they go into they still have to come out, vs. a Moto Q or Treo or blackberry where you can use the phone in the protection of the case… Take the phone out of the case and drop it… its all over with…

That battery is awfully small too. The Kaiser has a 1300mha battery that dies very quickly when all the functions are used.

As a business user, I’m amped to see a touch-screen pda/phone with WM 6 pro AND a full keyboard in a device that doesn’t look like a drink coaster in low-rent hotel bar.
