N95 8GB Updated to Allow Full YouTube.com Access
Nokia released a major firmware update this past Thursday for its flagship handset, the N95 8GB. Among the notable improvements is a tweaked S60 browser that now seemingly integrates Adobe Flash Lite 3. Why is this of interest? The S60 browser was impressive as it stood, being one of the first to provide true access to full web content on a mobile phone. With this latest enhancement however, the N95 becomes the first compact mobile phone to provide in-line viewing of FLV videos (the E90 can do it as well, but it’s hardly compact)! This means that users can now access the full YouTube library as they would on their desktop or laptop. No mobile sites, no video downloads / conversions and no third-party searches are required. Simply navigate to the full YouTube website and click on a video to watch it. Click on the video again as during playback to automatically switch to landscape orientation and display the video full screen with a control bar. It’s a shame that the N95’s dedicated multimedia keys can’t be used to control playback, but this is still quite an accomplishment none the less.

For those with Windows Mobile (STD or PRO) phones – you can do the same with TCPMP and FLV plugin – both free
just google TCPMP with FLV or full youtube access on Windows mobile for more details

Which E90 firmware version supports it? Mine is the latest and no youtube.

You tube is a necessity its 1 of the only things I’m missing on my blackberry
why is you tube a must for a cell phone!? for 1 thing the screens are way to small for effective viewing, and 2 anyone who has to be on you tubw where ever they are need to get a life!

This does not work for the e90. From what I hear, emTube works much better and does work on the e90.
Being used to watching YouTube on an iPHone the framerate speed on the Nokia N95 is janky, Apple did wifi in a phone the right way.
not bad at all….i wish the tmo wing could do that….but i really dont need it…but very impressive…
i have the n95 8gb but i havent got this update yet iv been searching even on the nokia site im sort of confused now
can someone help me or give me a link to the firmware v15 please because iv heard its out but were i dont know ….
Is this upgrade for the UK 8gbs or something i can’t find this upgrade either. I’m using firmware 11.0.026
