What happened to the 1/5/08 report that had the Vodafone roadmap listed on it. The one that is all over the place but no longer here? This link http://www.phonemag.com/blackberry-8920-01112.php shows what was on BGR. Did someone send in a take down notice?

Arghhh I had the 8800 for 4 days then upgraded to the curve. I never thought I could ever hate a phone so much. The 8800 buttons are the worst.

Prototype or Photoshop… Does it matter? It’s ugly and it wouldn’t make run to the store to buy it.

I’ve only been using the berry for 2 years, and I have had 9 different units. (Between losing and breaking and upgrading) My question to everyone is would you rather have touch screen or the track ball? (I was a fan of the scroll wheel too but the trackball is better.)

It’s not a final production unit guys.. It likely just one of a few test units that they’re working on. It can’t be a Photoshop either.

IMO, it looks WAY too busy for my taste. I see black, aluminum, green, white, red, and whatever backlight color they may use. If they cut back on all the colors, then I’m set on this being the next BB.

The device in the picture looks good to be sure but after taking a closer look it clearly seems to be a integral or mock-up device. It does not have the look of a completed product. The body seems to have that appearance but the face of it seems to be slapped together. Slapped by a professional in R&D but slapped to be sure. I can’t quite place my finger on it but it just doesn’t look ready for mass production. Which is a good thing in my opinion. I’m a blackberry fan but this looks like just more of the same old stuff with a newer, flashier body.
I’m still holding out that this was a step in the process toward a touch screen.

based on the new pictures the size of the battery in that thing is gonna be huge. bigger battery would suggest it is in fact 3g since the 3g network eats up so much battery power a bigger one would only make sense to balance things out

I live in Europe about 75% of the year and have had several Blackberry devices over the last few years. I also work in the IT industry, and have discussed this matter tirelessly with others. It is a simple fact: Europeans will NOT buy a non-HSDPA smartphone. If you had more than 3G, you would use it for more than just “e-mail and IM”. Haha, shame.

The ones who buy Blackberrys are upper-middle class business oriented people and want cutting edge technology. 3G is too old, as even some of the free clamshells that your mobile company GIVES away with 3-year contracts are 3.5G!!
