BlackBerry 9000 surfaces?

Who knows at this point, honestly. From our own mock-up, to many other ones online, it’s going to take a lot to convince us. That said friends, this does look pretty legit if it turns out to be true. We’ll let you all debate whether you like or not. Is that a touch screen on there? Nope, don’t think so!

P.S. See that silver / chrome bezel around the device? We’ve heard it is actually aluminium! Aluminium is a go for the BlackBerry 9000! Also note the external microSD slot on the left side

Thanks, MiBlackBerry!

i would say its real as well. I heard reports that these protos were running hot. im guessing this one is fried and whoever buys it wont be able to use it. The ebay seller of this has great feedback and sells all kinds of phones. im sure he tried to power it up with another berry battery or by plugging it in with a usb charger.

as for looks of this thing im not in love with it and like i said before, if i get 4.3 on my curve…….. will be very satisfied

Someone should email the person claiming to have it so they can take more pics of the phone. Back, battery, in their hand etc.

The Ebay specs says it has a camera.

Also, the seller’s city is only ~7.5 miles from RIM’s US office. Coincidence?

No 3G = No Big Deal for me. The Blackberry is the premier portable email device available. As long as they don’t screw that up, I don’t care whether it has 3G or not.

That said, a touch screen (for dialing phone numbers, if nothing else) would be a nice addition.

Uh, our watermarks say BGR and are obnoxiously big and blue. The watermark you see on the photo is the watermark eBay adds when you upload and host images for auctions with them…

I live in Europe about 75% of the year and have had several Blackberry devices over the last few years. I also work in the IT industry, and have discussed this matter tirelessly with others. It is a simple fact: Europeans will NOT buy a non-HSDPA smartphone. If you had more than 3G, you would use it for more than just “e-mail and IM”. Haha, shame.

The ones who buy Blackberrys are upper-middle class business oriented people and want cutting edge technology. 3G is too old, as even some of the free clamshells that your mobile company GIVES away with 3-year contracts are 3.5G!!

This is the best looking Black Berry so far. Hopefully it has 3G and it comes out on at&t.

based on the new pictures the size of the battery in that thing is gonna be huge. bigger battery would suggest it is in fact 3g since the 3g network eats up so much battery power a bigger one would only make sense to balance things out

The device in the picture looks good to be sure but after taking a closer look it clearly seems to be a integral or mock-up device. It does not have the look of a completed product. The body seems to have that appearance but the face of it seems to be slapped together. Slapped by a professional in R&D but slapped to be sure. I can’t quite place my finger on it but it just doesn’t look ready for mass production. Which is a good thing in my opinion. I’m a blackberry fan but this looks like just more of the same old stuff with a newer, flashier body.
I’m still holding out that this was a step in the process toward a touch screen.

It looks ugly and outdated, i hope this is a joke, cuz they should really focus some moretime on looks here. Funtionality is great, but it has to look good as well

Well, real or not… it has been pulled from eBay. Kinda makes you wonder…

“This listing (310010262268) has been removed or is no longer available. Please make sure you entered the right item number.
If the listing was removed by eBay, consider it canceled. Note: Listings that have ended more than 90 days ago will no longer appear on eBay”

It’s not a final production unit guys.. It likely just one of a few test units that they’re working on. It can’t be a Photoshop either.

IMO, it looks WAY too busy for my taste. I see black, aluminum, green, white, red, and whatever backlight color they may use. If they cut back on all the colors, then I’m set on this being the next BB.

This kinda-sorta looks like a device depicted when the curve was being initially reported (not quite the curve, definitely not the 8800). I always thought it was a never released blackberry. Check it out,
