Adapter adds HDMI output to older Xbox 360s

Are you one of the many that purchased an Xbox 360 before Microsoft updated them with native HDMI output? A new adapter allows you to upgrade your early-generation 360 with a set of HDMI outputs. The process is painless, involving little more than an adapter that plugs into your existing A/V output jack. String the wires into your HDTV input and you’re good to go. The adapter, which is manufactured by gaming accessory kingpin MadCatz, doesn’t come cheap, however. Investing $90 into a slightly older console sounds a little insane to us, especially when you can snag a brand new box for under $300. That said, we’re sure more than a few of you will be pretty excited at the prospect of adding some HDM joy to your old 360. Just be careful if you do decide to buy a new unit as the Xbox 360 Arcade does not have HDMI. The Elite, Halo edition, and Premium all do!

no, but there are tons of them out there without hdmi (mine).
But no way i’m spending 95 plus the cost of an hdmi cord to do this.

to much $$, for too little benefit.

Had too much bad luck with HMDI.. My cable box has the port but Cox Kansas can’t seem to get the port authorised and I know the cable’s good. If I spend serious money on something for my 360, it’s not going to be this nor the HD-DVD player..

I actually bought one and it worked right up until I tried to watch a regular dvd on my xbox and it would not let my tv out out a 480P signal. Tried just switching the xbox settings to 480P and it did the same thing; the screen would blink a couple times and then go black. You could hear the sound, but no picture. Works great with HD DVD (now dead obviously) and with games, but flat out does not work with regular dvd’s. Therefore in my mind its a complete waste of money.
