Apple’s new laptops: confirmed!

Leave it up to our music industry spies (Ok, well, Just Blaze really) to set the record straight! Apple will 100% be announcing a new laptop at MacWorld. We’ve also heard the laptop will go on sale a week after MacWorld, too. What laptop is this? The much-rumored ultra portable one? Well, we’d guess so, but do not have a firm confirmation on the details of the new unit. Once again, completely without a doubt confirmed Apple will be announcing a new sort of laptop at MacWorld. How do we know this? Apple had a recent holiday event where they had artists perform (some really big names, too), and they all did it for free! Why did they perform without being paid? Apple promised to give every performer and band member one of the new laptops they are coming out with at MacWorld! That’s all, folks!

I’d would think that is Apple would make them sign NDA’s this is the whole reason that Think secret is stopping reporting. Apple hold’s secrets very well and would not let something like this out without a NDA.
Right. Big name performers were promised a new to be released future laptop for a free performance. Sorry, that crap does not happen. I work in TV and live production and every show has contracts and riders. Swag is just that… free stuff at the show. I would expect Apple to swag big name artists but it would be tacky to offer to future swag them.

for all you say here, the “new laptop” these people are getting could just be a speed-bumped Macbook Pro (it may or may not have new darker coloured aluminium casing as it rumoured)
there’s nothing to confirm that it’ll be an entirely new model (the ultrathin flash-based one as you suggest) at all
and we’ve been 99% certain that there would be some update to the MacBook Pros at MacWorld so we’ve learned nothing new here at all

Yeah we where there and played for free coz Steve definitively promised us one of those new 52 inch notebooks which can also be used as razor, jo roller, surfboard and airline ticket. Our new song “an Apple for everyone” will be available for free on iTunes starting february.

If it’s ultra-portable, then it’s going to come at an ultra high price. So the $1500 price tag seems unlikely. Look at other lightweight portables. They start in the $2000 to $2500 price range.

historically, when apple has announced a new laptop at macworld, how long has it been before we can buy it? i’m itching to replace my 12″ powerbook g4 that i use as a roach machine. i can wait too months, but 3 would be pushing it!
