This phone is awfully irritating. I am begining to develop a certain loathing for this and verizon service. Is there a way to reprogram this junk so only show a handfull of shortcuts and remove all other services from it ?

if you have verizon. get “the back up” it’ll do it for you right off your phone if you have the info stored.or.from your alternate email base. if not. x-port addy into ur fav website Or x-port into doc. then import to where u want.

Well…
as a prior subscriber to Sprint, T-mobile and Metro, Verizon easily has the best service.
If any1 has read the past Consumer Report Magazine on Cell phone providers, you would kno that Verizon nearly won out 15 of 18 different cities nation wide for over ALL quality. A huge achievement. A simple firmware update is hardly a way to “loose” more customers… the only downside is that u can not do it at home… as “Shane” illuded to… why are so many hating?

-side note/question– does any1 kno if there is a hotkey or shortcut key to enable Security lock on the phone (4digit passowrd) so that you are not required to go through the full menu of the phone?… …i have a nosey G.F…. =)~

fyi…no , this is the same as dialing *228 1 then 1 again check it out… not a real software update of fixs offered at store …you still need to go in.. i got a letter in snail mail went in and pretooo all was fixed ….

even after i got my update my espn MVP program still tells me to open up the phone to use it…..wtf? but the mobile AIM program does work on the touch screen….whats goin on here? but either way it is worth it to get this update

You know how they came out with the EnV a few months after the original V? Are they going to create a whole updated version phone like they did for the V ? and i dont mean just updating the “firmware” .

Dial *22899 to reprogram your phone with the firmware update.

I called 3 stores asking if they had it before I finally got this as the answer.

Sqube, as an iphone lover & owner, I dont hate on any particular phone.
I also have an active BB that I love. The ones that i do hate are the ones that claim that their phone is perfect, because their is no perfect phone.
Some just troll around an insult other phones so they don’t feel that they made a bad purchase themselves.
iPhone people generally cling to the “that can be added in updates” and that is a good way to look at things. Nothing is perfect so the better companies are the ones that do push updates and bug fixes. Recently you see WM push out a very good looking update and now this for the voyager, more companies need to do this rather then just move on to another model.

Seriously though, everybody who has the iPhone, or lusts after the iPhone, or thinks they should be lusting after the iPhone, takes every opportunity to harsh on every other phone. I mean, as we all know, Apple has never had to update the iPhone. Everything they did was perfect from the very beginning.

WOW… I am not even a Verizon customer so not biased. But when you post comments like “lose even more customers” just shows your post are not valid due to hate rather than fact. Verizon has by far the lowest “CHURN” rate than any cellular company. This site is full of this type of crap! Where did the insightful peeps go!!!!

doesn’t improve battery life exactly, but reduces drain from apps. the battery is what it is.

Pretty frequently these days, especially with Verizon’s CDMA devices. The Moto Q had some updates that were supposed to help with battery life, as have other smartphones.
