T-Mobile acquisition approved by SunCom shareholders

SunCom Logo

Regional carrier SunCom Wireless, famous for Harry Connick Jr.’s stunning marketing voice and "Worryless Wireless," officially passed a hurdle in its effort to be acquired by T-Mobile USA. The SunCom / T-Mobile merger agreement, announced on September 16, 2007, was passed by a majority of SunCom (NYSE: TPC) shareholders and is now awaiting FCC approval. SunCom expects the buyout to be completed by April 2008. In the meantime, since T-Mobile’s preliminary BlackBerry Pearl 8120 launch date is February, take advantage of the regional goodness and pick up a SunCom BlackBerry Pearl 8120 — the first US GSM carrier to offer it–while you can.

That SunCom BB 8120 will be upgradable with T-Mobile’s firmware updates, too, so yeah, grab it now.
