T-Mobile Samsung t819, another 3G phone

So many 3G phones, yet no network to run ‘em on yet! Regardless, we’ve got the drop on T-Mobile’s Samsung t819! A 3G slider, with rather ordinary specs like a 1.3 megapixel camera, A2DP, myFaves, microSD slot, and voice dialing. The release looks like January, and the handset is slated to come in only one color — coffee brown. We don’t have specific pricing details at the moment, but if we had to guess, it’s going to be a lot cheaper than that Verizon Palm Treo 755p, you know?

Seems like a nice enough mid priced phone with decent dpecs but I’d take my blackberry curve anyday.

Comparing a Treo 755p and a Curve to a low- to mid-range basic slider phone? what the?

Please stop with the ugly colors already. Seriously. Stop! Do the darn phone in black and call it a day. No one wants these ugly brown, green or coffee brown colors inspired by the Zune.

wow, the sales rep told me on saturday that a new samsung 3g slider was coming in jan… and here it is.
he also said that by Q2-Q3 2008, 3g data will be up and running on tmo, while prior to that they will test voice on 3g n/w (??)

I am thinking about making the switch from VZW to TMO. Is there a website where i can view coverage (kind of like a forum) where people can tell of their experiences with different carriers?

can the government REALLY be taking that long to vacate the 1700mhz frequency?? Q2 or Q3 for DATA??
when is the Kaiser coming to Tmo? when is Tmo getting the Q9h? MDA was ok…..mine died…so i’m left with this P.O.S. Wing.
I feel that Tmo dropped the ball big time. crap devices, no contemporary high speed service. I don’t care for ‘Berrys. AT&T has a bevvy of WM toys. Why can’t Tmo do better?
Laughable.

I’m frustrated too. I’m tired of Tmo USA being so far behind in technology when their parent in Europe is so far ahead (At least on par with all the other carriers). I love Tmo for phone.. rarely, if ever, do I have issues. The 5000 minutes plus all the other features on my plan would cost more than double on AT&T. As much as I’d love to have access to better phones, it’s not worth it. But.. I would like to be able to make a call, receive / send email .. and at high speeds. Again.. TMo dropped the ball… and it’s frustrating b/c the delays are longer and longer…

@JohnJ
i know tmo site has a coverage map, but i am looking for more of a forum-like site where users can talk about their coverage by state, city, zip, etc….

I find it interesting that in the technical specs on the so far released 3g phones t-mobile mention the 1700 frequency on the website (which is what the 3G will run on).. unless I’m missing something

Has anyone heard anything about the Touch that’s supposed to be coming from TMo this month?

1st, yes the government is taking that long to vacate it. Its the freaking US government, think about how slow they are to do everything else. 2nd, as for tmo not offering WM devices, they don’t because it ends up costing them more in the long run doing exchanges because microsoft is the most unreliable OS in existence. Why offer a plethora of phones that they’ll just end up replacing constantly? 3rd, expect tmo to be rolling out their 3G as soon as the gov’t pulls their heads out.
