3D Roadmapping with Navi2Go
Google Maps are great, they let you find locations from New York to Navy Pier in Chicago and zoom in to see what bumps in the road you need to watch out for. But now, Navi2Go takes that two steps further. You can "drive" the entire road through a simulation not only on your computer, but more importantly on your Windows Mobile phone. We think that it is pretty cool, but not sure about the overall functionality, before seeing a more finished product than the current alpha version. It’s out for residents of the U.K. right now, but we have to wait to Q2 of next year to see it across the pond. 2008 will also be the year where it comes out in a Symbian version, too. We guess we have to wait a little before we can decide if it’s more than a clever novelty, and actually useful in the day to day life. Hurry up Navi2Go, we don’t like waiting.

I can’t think of how this would really be useful at all. It’s not really any different than just looking at the map, only the camera is following the road from start to finish. The only way I can think of that would make this very useful is if it could somehow go at the same speed as the car, which would actually make it extremely useful.

I think this will be very useful for endurance athletes who are trying to plot out a course, such as long distance runners and cyclists.

It’s totally different from Google Maps. Regarding Haxxy’s comment, a picture of a map that gives you a flat representation of the world with lines, doesn’t come close to the uses an actual 3D image can give you. You can’t miss a turn or house when its all there in front of you.
I agree with what Chrisc mentioned. It can also be good for hiking trips so you see if you have a up-hill or down-hill route.
I found this Navi2go video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EkgMJLcgygQ

I think it’s your phone that isn’t working,I know that the application does work and it works realy well. It works on all smartphones, including the latest motorola Q9c phone which is great.
There is no reason to wait a year for google to bring something that might not even come out. If you really want to see a cool demo check out m.navi2go.com on any smartphone or winows mobile. I’ve never seen anything like it before on mobile..

I tried google mobile in beta now it works much better just like in the pc and provides a richer navigation system. I cant see how this thing can match it looks immature to me. I wouldnt recommend it.
