Windows Mobile 6.1, did you catch it?
Maybe you didn’t see this huge, totally awesome scoop we had the other day…It’s Windows Mobile 6.1, live and in color! To add on to our previous post, here are some of the latest new additions to Windows Mobile 6.1 we found, and new flicks are in the gallery!
- Task Manager now shows CPU usage as a whole, and also lists it by process
- Internet Explorer offers 6 zoom modes and copy / paste functionality
- IE also uses a new font, which looks worlds better
- ActiveSync will now try to automatically configure your Exchange settings once you enter an email address
- Wi-Fi indicator in the status bar, just as in Windows Mobile Professional
- New "Vista" home screen and theme

also, why does it say Cigular Wireless?
they could be using an older sim. not all of the alpha tas have been updated yet. or the picture may have been taken a few months ago during testing.
Darn it BG stop it! It’s killing me that at&t hasn’t released the WM6 update for the Blackjack yet. So much so that I went an flashed the Leaked ROM.

Like say…
Shoot a video (or five) of the OS in action
Publish a complete review of the differences
Take pictures of the new IE
Or better yet, dump the ROM so the community can anaylze the system level improvements

BGR credibility is seriously in question here – can anyone explain the “Cigular Wireless” logo? I agree with Yums, if this thing is for real, why aren’t we seeing more details, as well as any hint of where this thing came from? The previous post mentioned it was delivered by FedEx…who did it come from?
I am really excited about all of the “features” listed, as I think it would really help WinMo Standard close the gap on the competition (Blackberry OS, etc)…but BGR needs to prove these are indeed features before I get too excited.

Is the device using any hardware rendering in response the iPhone? Is the interface still as clunky as WM5/6? Is the twist interface smooth (pre-rendered)?

Just like I said on the Q9h with wifi thread I would like BGR to come clean and tell us whether this is a hoax, and how they got their hands on this device.
“Cigular” Since when does a vendor ship something with such a big typo. Besides the pic in this story shows a wifi connection, so in this screen why would “Cigular” be displayed.
This whole thing sounds too fishy to me. BGR prove me wrong — please…

Now this would be a good addition to WinMo 6 Pro cause I like the main screen style on 6.1. I’m getting bored of the no choices of what it could look like.

Hey, maybe M$ will like these photoshopped images and update their “REAL” WinMo 6.1 to look like this. CIGULAR? At least learn to check for typo before you hit save and exit Photoshop!

I just tried a Windows update from my Tilt, and got: “No updates are available at this time”.
So…
This whole thread started with the article about BGR getting a “new” Q9h with wifi on 3-Dec-07. We must speculate that this is not new hardware, but just new features enabeld by new software.
So far the only BGR-realted replies came from Aaron, and his posts were on 3-Dec-07. Nobody from BGR has posted since.
So I am chalking this up in the BS category until BGR comes clean on all aspects of what they supposedly have. Saying the “cigular” typo was from the vendor is pure BS.
It’s a photoshop hoax until there is real proof provided for all of us to see.
So, I’m curious. Is wm6.1 a purchase or a software update from wm6??
this is just crap, even if they are using a old sim card will show cingular or CIGULAR
