Last Chance for Free Touchpal, makes Windows Mobile a little more iPhone-like
We really like the sleekness of the iPhone on-screen QWERTY. It’s so pretty; you just want to tap away like no tomorrow. But back in October it was reported that CooTek had a little aplication out called TouchPal. And the interesting thing about TouchPal, was that you could put a virtual QWERTY keyboard on your Windows Mobile 5 or 6 device, supposedly freeing you of any stylus, making your device stylish, you popular with the opposite sex, and invited to all the cool parties (OK, maybe not all of those things). Neat, you say, but the kicker was that TouchPal was free for a limited time. Well that time is just about up, and after the 8th of December, you have to shell out $19.95. So why not hurry up and try it out, to see if it’s something you like. You know you want to, since free is still the best price of anything.

What’s the point when it dies and becomes unavailable as a SIP (due to its resource hogging) within a few moments?

the real question here is… whats the point if you cant drive and text, honestly lol.
screw the iphone! until they get a full slide out keyboard.
now that might be worth camping outside and getting GOT for 200 bucks lol

Agreed NuShrike. I had this keyboard installed months ago and constantly found that it kept becoming unavailable as a SIP.

I had this intsalled on my TyTn II and tried it out for a few weeks and I really didnt like it that much. For some reason it would always be suggesting words that I was not looking for. Also I had trouble getting certain letters with my fingertip. I have since installed the PCM onscreen keyboard and I am much happier. Whoever would pay for this after the 8th is beyond me. Its freeware at best.

I tried this for a few days and I’m quite impressed with it. Although, I’ll always take my BB Pearl + SureType over a touchscreen device + TouchPal, any day. I’m a sucker for the tactile feel of actually pressing buttons.
I wouldn’t be surprised if a TouchPal-type of software shows up on RIM’s “mysterious” 9000 device.

They recently released the V2. I couldn’t load V1 on my device either but fortunately V2 works for me very well! Those who had the same issue on V1 should try your luck on V2!
A lot of new features are introduced on V2 and in my opinion it’s much better than PocketCM keyboard (or any other WM SIP)!
Got two licenses in the promotion period on their website…
(happy, happy…cootek is so cool!)
