Apple quietly releasing an early version of iPhone SDK?
This is completely unverified for the time being, but word has it that Apple has let a few "preferred developers" get their hands on a early version of the iPhone SDK prior to the official unveiling in February, 2008. No info on which companies or developers might be the lucky recipients of the most sought-after Software Developer Kit this side of, well, anywhere. The SDK is apparently a bit out of the ordinary, providing a non-traditional development environment in which developers are essentially "mediating" code, providing Apple with final oversight and the apps are a little "sand-boxed". Anyone ready for February? Yeah, we thought so.

Sound like iphone wants to be like google and people though google was copying aple.
Your talking beta beta pre release and to a small group also.
Personally when they do release the SDK wait and see how fast the 8gigs fills up and they start rushing the 16gig or 32gig. I am NOT saying there is going to be a 32gig but it mite be something to look into ASAP
jdh, they are responding to their buyers wanting apps, they dont care about google’s linux offering yet. watch the android demo and you will see who is copying who.
Michael, 8gigs of apps is quite alot. I doubt it would be easy to do anytime soon. They will have the 16gb out with the next version and there is no way to fill 16gb with apps on the phone. media yes, apps no.
and of course their will be a 32gb version, just watch samsung ssd production and you will see the future storage capacity of the ipods/ iphones. common sense.
This will open the door for more hacking. Give the people an SDK and they will open the door for all types of cracks, viruses, phishers, and all types of malicious software. The Apple userbase is growing and I dont want to be a part of the wake thats about to come.
Alpha you have no idea what you are talking about.
All 3rd party apps using the SDK must be signed and approved by Apple.
They have hacked it apart already, if its going to get any viruses it will be the current hacked phones that are using hacked apps.
Just about anything can be hacked, the software is more secure but not fool proof. I think you need to get your tinfoil hat out and put it on.
Look, look the is now worth…carry the 1…$50!!!
