ZML.com brings movie downloads on the cheap
…though they may not be so legal. ZML.com wants to do for movies what AllofMP3.com did for MP3s. The site is offering hundreds of blockbuster movies, available for download, for prices ranging from $1.99-$4.99. Does it sound too good to be true? Well, for the time being at least, everything seems to be completely functional. You can choose to download your flicks in a wide variety of formats, including DVD quality, DivX, and PDA/iPod-optimized. The catch, of course, is that the site might not last too long. They’re aparantly using some form of Russian copyright law to skirt the obvious legal issues, though it’s only a matter of time before they find themselves face to face with a "cease and desist" order, so you best get over there with the quickness.

“Hello? Visa? I’d like to report a case of identity theft.”
Wouldn’t touch that site with a 10′ pole.
Illegal, yes, but this is how things SHOULD be legally. Cheap, and accessible in a variety of formats.
No way would i go near that even with Galvatron’s credit card.
why pay when you can download it for free, and its illegal either way.
and the movie industry takes another blow.

Yea really, what are those hella stupid writers gonna say ’bout this?
Technically it suits their needs but yea, too bad this won’t be around long enough.
I would probably do something like this, nobody can say you “stole” it or “illegally downloaded” it because you did Pay for it. The only problem for me, if they are based outside of the US my bank will shutdown my account every transaction and say “A fraud action has occured, for the safety of your money we have put a block on your account.”
Its a good feature but geeze, every overseas transaction I have tried to do in the past does this, havent they learned by now?
Anyways, I hope this site stays up for a while and puts up a fight.
Hello ? Havent you people ever heard of “gift credit cards” or “throw away credit cards” Go to any bank or even many stores and ask for a gift credit card. Pay there $5 fee and put $50 bucks on it, go online buy the movies and toss the card. Let them try to use the card numbers again, they cant. The card is dead after the amount of money is spent.
Yeah I really dont have a fear of credit card fraud but that is 2 things Digital504, a good idea but also a hastle. I just might have to try it sometime.
I bought movies from there and my identity didnt get stolen and it is a grey area it is not illegal yet. if you pay for it the goverment cant sue you they can only sue the website owners for not paying the studios. plus if you get into any legal trouble with it the site says it is legal so they have to take the fall. the only way you get into trouble is if you burn the videos and sell them as boot legs.

Per the ZML Terms of Service agreement:
6.4 The Client has no right to download any Files from the Site if this violates the law of his country.
BGR – Does it violate the laws of our country? OK where’s your legal guy? August 2008, site still up and running…
I’ve used ZML a bit and found them to be good quality. Usually quite fast downloads for the movies, not always though, out of about 60 movies I bought from them 1 or 2 have been very slow to download (Stargate Continuum especially!).
One more thing: I clicked without looking and found I had subscribed to some porn site as well as ZML. I know, my fault I shoulda looked before I clicked. I wrote a letter explaining that I don’t want access to this porn cr*p and they refunded me! I’d rather buy from them than iTunes thanks.
I saw a banner ad for ZML and I have to admit I was courious so I browsed the site, read the fine print and checked its authenticity gave them a credit card # and began to download. they say download as much as you like but you must activate your account. So I did, now what that does is set you up for recurring $39.99 charge every month. We couldnt have that so I quickly canclled and they stopped the billing
well since I was out of $39.99 figured I’d take advantage of it so I did all weekend to the tune of 200 titles blockbusters series tv shows you name it and in all different formats
and they burn perfectly to DVD not too bad I recommend it any one but you better act quick times running out on that Russian loophole.
Can anyone tell me how much speed any 2 GB zml movie take to download ?
