I successfully synced my Mac Address Book contacts to my Voyager using freeware called Bitpim test version 1.0.7. First, I exported my contacts in VCard format on my Mac (this should work the same with Outlook.) Next, I imported the VCard file into Bitpim. Last, I sent the contact data to my Voyager via the USB cable. Easy and painless. You can find Bitpim through Google.

this phone sux. i can’t believe that with every phone i’ve had that can connect to a pc that all i had to do was plug in my phone and my contacts and calander was all sync’d. when i bought the damn thing they said i could do that. now i found out that i have to pay for it. monthly! i could’ve gotten a fucking iphone and sync would be be free. what do i get instead. pay to look at back up my contacts and see my schedule via phone only after i agree to drop $20 a month. when my contract is up. this phone is getting recycled.

To sync with outlook just use bitpim and your usb cable. Once in bitpim goto upper left click and import calender and use outlook or igoogle very helpfull tool!! can use bitpim to load download music pictures ringtones…backup contacts etc

You can indeed get your contacts and calender from outlook and get both pop and imap mail via wireless sync. I looked hard at getting a Moto Q (I don’t like motorola) and one of the palm os phones or BB pearl.

The deciding factor for me was ultimatly the calling plan. I have 3 other lines on my family share plan and I realized I was going to have to buy a data plan separate if I was going to use a PDA phone, whereas with this phone I could take any number of family share min and just pay $19.99 extra for the contacts and calender.

You can use a couple of different services to get any pop mail account like Remomail from as little as 1.99 a month, but you don’t get the contacts and calender, which is what most people want more than mail.

I gave up the functionality of the win mobile or palm os for the voyager’s browser. I don’t much care for the enhanced mode. It’s good if you just want to read news articles but if you want to view regular websites you need to turn it off.

To sum it up, if you’re a single business user who needs everything then get a pda phone and an unlimited data plan. If you’re a family user who wants some lighter syncing along with the multimedia apps, then check out this phone. Find a real store with a working demo version. Lastly buy a memory card. The phone will work without one, but performance will suffer, especially if you import a lot of contacts or calender items.

Will this phone work with the Ford Sync program in its 2008 vehicles? For some reason the bluetooth in most phones work fine but the “Sync” program in the Ford vehicles will also read incoming texts with specific phones/bluetooths. Does anyone know if this phone is compatible with “Sync”? I am a Verizon customer and, so far, none of their phones have the texting capability with the “Sync” program.

it took 5 days till i got my phone but i had 2 wait 24 hrs till i could activate idk why
its a really good phone it actually takes better pics it just that its not loud enough

I think the Voyager is a great phone, but I have a few recommendations for improvement:

1 – It needs at least a 5 mp camera with a lens cover and/or an optical zoom.

2 – Get rid of the qwerty keyboard and make the whole phone 1/2 as thick as it is.

3 – Give the user the ability to ‘upgrade’ and/or ‘personalize’ phone with downloadable applications.

i tryed to order my voyager as soon as it came out in san diego and it sold out everywhere here.they told me they were gonna get a shipment but later said they wont receive 1 till january so they ordered for me and said it will take 10-12 days hopefully i get it sooner.

I went to a vzon store and they were sold out. But they told me i could pay and settle the contract stuff there and they would ship the phone out. I got the phone in 2 days via FedEx, pretty quick. Alot of people confuse the VX10000 with smart phones, that is it not. Like said above, its a media centric phone.
Now about the phone: I liked the EnV but i didnt like how big it was, so when i saw the Voyager i liked the size, not too big.

Interface: is great, no lag (unlike Motorola, and was a motorola fan) its quick and easy, simple to learn, the vibra touch screen is nice. I find myself txt’n on the front screen it works so well.
Web Browser: works good, 3 modes – optimized, not optimized, and text only. I check my Fantasy sports with no problem.
CAmera/Video: not bad for a phone, much better than my KRZR camera. 2MP does the job.
Video Content: Vcast content comes in fast, video camera works well for a phone, it does have an antenna to help out, pretty funny it has a pull out antenna, originally i thought it was a stylus.
Flip out keyboard: almost same as EnV, layout and lightup works fine with me. No touch screen inside FYI.

Concerns: I was at a store where i used my old KRZR and had no issues with signal, was in the same store today with the VX10K, and had no signal for a few seconds, but it came back but was weak. not sure what was up with that.
soo well see later down the road.

I am hoping to sync my outlook calendar to my phone via USB cable – I don’t need it to be dynamic… a once a day sync is perfect for my needs which is why I don’t want to pay Verizon $20 a month for their wireless sync service.

Any thoughts/ideas/suggestions would be a huge help to me.

I don’t work for Verizon, but I do really like the Voyager. The TV is really great. I had them transfer all my contacts at the store.
There are utilities within the microsoft live area that will enable you to import and export contacts and appointments, but it’s a manual process. Someone will write an app to do this if there isn’t one already.
I do really like the phone, though. I’ve never used the iPhone, so I can’t compare it, but I think it’s an either or thing. Once it’s out a while, that will be the real test.

People – to sync with your Outlook just use the same email client that is avaible on the V – 9800, and the enV – 9900. Wireless Sync E-mail can sync you contacts calendar and email…. but it is expensive. You can get it under Get It Now in the email section. We should push for verizon to lower the price from 19.99 a month!

I do not work for Verizon. I’m just stating the facts. This phone is cool, sleek, and very capable. The TV function is far ahead of anyone else. Plus, Verizon didn’t over price the phone by $200 and then drop the price for the others. The Voyager is truely multimedia at its best!

Lots of people are jumping ship from other carriers just for this phone asa they should. This is a awesome phone on the BEST and fastest network. Apple and Iphone can’t top that. True that the Iphone UI is FAR superior to any phone but OVERALL the Voyager is better.

I was able to get my new Voyager the day before Thanksgiving at the first Verizon store I went to. This phone is absolutely sweet! Finally a touch screen that is really responsive. The phone is slick, and does everything it claims and more. It has 3G capability and live mobile TV with a very sharp bright picture. The GPS navigator is awesome. I love it!! I am glad I didn’t settle for the iphone now!
