Samsung BlackJack II unboxing
We got a chance to play around with the new BlackJack II for the better part of a day, and have mixed feelings about the device. On the spec side, it has a quad-band GSM/EDGE radio and a tri-band UMTS radio for world-roaming, 2 megapixel camera, integrated GPS, full QWERTY keyboard, and runs Windows Mobile 6 Standard. We’re going to save our thoughts on the handset for our head-to-head feature story coming up a little later on, but if you’re feeling the need for some Korean love, the BlackJack II launches Friday for $149.99 with a 2-year agreement. Double check with your local AT&T store though, because they might have already received shipments and they’re allowed to start selling the phone. Make sure to check out the photo snaps!

Anyway, I’m still gonna stick with my BB8310 until one of these companies can make a browser like iPhone’s Safari…
I’d get the iPhone since it’s browser is the best in it’s class, but I really need a good mail device. BB fits the bill.
Having 3G on the BJ2 is kinda worthless with MS’s crappy browser (and Opera isn’t much better).
In terms of GPS, I think the BB8310 version is the nicest (integrates nicely with RIM addressbook). I use TeleNav quite often for just plain old finding places and of course navigation.
So my New Years wishlist:
1) BB with 3G and a better browser than or equal to iPhone, and even maybe a touch screen.
2) WM devices with a better browser than or equal to iPhone.
3) iPhone with 3G, GPS, and better mail client. Also, a development environment for the developers to really build some cool apps.

Damn that is a significant improvement over the old one!!! Hell, I’ll buy right now.
Dtest,
Why? It’s not an iPhone but it’s not like the iPhone can offer up the BJII’s feature set but for looks the iPhone has it beat I mean personally I like them both but the way the iPhone is locked down…I’ll pick up a BJII first. Plus it’s only $150 so what do you expect?

Nice unboxing, something I forgot to do
Here is a little more review to go with the unboxing. I have some comparison pictures, sample pics&videos from the camera and a UI walkthrough:
