Which way is up? This phone knows
For those that travel internationally, the concept of a dual SIM card phone is intriguing. With the Korean-born DUO Atom, the bar is raised even further. It has a built in gravity sensor, and can tell which direction the phone is facing. Why is that important? Depending on which way it’s facing, the phone will choose the appropriate SIM card. It even switches the screen and keypad around so you can avoid the embarassment of having to noticably hold your phone the wrong way. Just don’t go jogging, mountain climbing, bicycle riding, skiing, or anything else that involves the phone possible being turned the wrong way.
…or talk on the phone while on a rollercoaster.
Why can a SIM not be used upside down? This seems like a stupid waste of technology just so some idiot can’t screw up by holding their phone upside down.
Now that is a cool idea, not sure how useful it is, but a cool idea. I mean why don’t you just swap out the SIM cards in an unlocked phone?

The phone works so that based on orientation you activate one of two SIMs – I would like to know if you can’t receive a call on either SIM all the time, or if you are really restricted to one all the time.
As for switching SIMs, you don’t understand your Asian customers – one SIM is for your wife, the other is for your mistress.
