Helio releases File Viewer for Ocean
Helio has just released the much anticipated document viewing application for their Ocean handset. It’s nothing revolutionary, but it does bring a clean and efficient way to view a wide variety of documents. It also evokes that "uh-this-shoulda-been-there-from-the-start" feeling. File Viewer supports "Microsoft Office documents (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), PDF, TXT, images (BMP, GIF, JPG, PNG, WMF, EMF) and HTML." That’s a pretty exhaustive list. Editing appears to be a no go here, so we’ll have to content ourselves with a read-only solution for the time being. On the flip-side, the Application is completely free to current and future Ocean owners, so there’s not much use in complaining. It’s available now directly from the Application store on your handset. Enjoy!
Not bad most wm5 phones had only this feature for a while so it will be nice to see what they do for editing, I don’t have a helio so not sure if there’s any 3rd party products out there.
The Excel capability is either very limited or non-existent. Tech support says it is not supported. It does not work for me.
