Sidekick Slide pulled from T-Mobile?

Giz is reporting that the Sidekick Slide has pulled from T-Mobile. Various reports are coming in about the handset disappearing off T-Mobile’s site, and other insiders have said that the Slide has been yanked. From our brief visit to T-Mobile’s website, the Sidekick Slide simply lists as "Temporarily Unavailable." Whether this means they have temporary pulled stock to fix the major "slide" issue we first reported on, or are actually discontinuing the device is unknown. This can’t bode well for Danger’s relationship with Motorola, can it? Flip it up! Flip it up! Flip it up!

UPDATE: Here’s the official statement from T-Mobile:

 "T-Mobile USA suspended sales of the T-Mobile Sidekick Slide™ on Friday evening, Nov. 16, after Motorola – the manufacturer of the device – confirmed that some devices may inadvertently power off when the slide door on the front side of the phone is opened or closed.

T-Mobile has taken this action to help ensure our customers only receive devices we’re confident will perform at their peak, so they can stay effortlessly connected to those who matter most.

Motorola is currently working to identify the root cause of the power cycle issue in affected Sidekick Slide devices.  The T-Mobile Sidekick LX™ and Sidekick iD™ are not affected by this issue.

If a customer purchased a Sidekick Slide that is experiencing the unintended power cycle issue, they may contact T-Mobile Customer Care, or go to a T-Mobile retail store, for assistance and to discuss available options."

UPDATE 2: We received word that any Sidekick Slide owners that report the power issue will receive a free upgrade to the Sidekick LX with free express shipping. You won’t have a color choice, though. You’ll get the blue LX.

    TM doesn’t do anything but send you the same phone that won’t work. I replaced it on 1/7/08 and put in a request again today 3/14/08. I’ll be calling them every month until they let me upgrade or something this is ridiculous. Let us stop paying the bill with TM and then we get bad credit. I spoke to someone at Motorola and they said this isn’t a known issue on there end any longer as TM told me too.

    or is there some kind of software for this problem i call t-mobile 2 may times and the know there is a problem but wont help i cant wait till my contract is over ….. and i am giving everyone out the that is trying 2 buy a side kick dont u will be very upset and curse the t-mobile reps.. and i will never buy a motorola phone ever again cause they act like the didnt make the phone so screw them

    i have a sidekick slide. and its tweaking out really bad. ive had it foro about 3 weeks and ever since i bought it, its been freezing and the battery dies really fast.

    TM won’t do anything. they just said i can by another phone and sale the sidekick.. Why would i do that!?!?!!? I wouldn’t sell that to any friend or family memeber not a chance. So for now i just have to deal with this Cr&py phone.

    Omg my slide is tweaking out to it pisses me off.omg sometimes I just wanna throw the phone against the wall.its so slow when I listen to music cuhz the phone will freeze for a minute it gets me fustrated and sometimes when I slide the phone up or down it DIES how stupid?and the cheap battery dies so freaking FAST I listen to one song and the bars on the battery go down ughh tmo better give me a free upgrade shoot bought this crappy thing for 320!they shouldn’t have sold it when they weren’t done solving the issue!

    I didn’t get anywhere with them surprise surprise. Now this darn thing won’t even charge. And it’s the phone not the charger. I have to wait for a replacement of the same damn phone or buy another one. They were going to give me a so called deal on the BlackBerry® Curve which I liked but they quoted me the price I saw in the store. The only thing is that they would waive the activation fee. GIVE ME A BREAK. Oh and they would extend my two year contract out another 6 months since that’s how long I’ve had this piece of c**p phone. I will be returning this phone every month until they give me what I want. A few people at TM said after a certain amount of returns they will offer another phone. What that is I don’t know. They’ve wasted my time enough they can keep sending me phones on them as long as they want.

    I got my phone in Feb. no one told me when I bought it that I needed the Sidekick option for it to work properly and not power off randomly. I added the Sidekick option and this stupid thing still shuts off on its own. It’ll erase everything and a few times it restarts as Dec 6 no year @ 12am. Then when my memory does reload it adds my contacts in twice and my text messages come back from the previous month. That sh*ts annoying. Does anyone know if they are still exchanging these for the LX???

    So I got T-Mobile to offer me the blackberry pearl 8100 but they will only give me the gold one. I’ve been through so much with this sidekick you would think they can at least give me a nice looking one. Or even just the plain silver one. I really want the blackberry curve but they won’t give me any type of discount. IF I get the pearl I won’t need to extend my contract which is GREAT (at least that’s what the guy said). He made note on my account as I didn’t want to agree with that just yet. Keep calling people make them give you something.

    OMG after reading this I wish I would have googled problems with sidekick slide before purchasing the phone. As many of you I am experiencng each and every problem. I know phones are man made and problems will arise but DAMN this is stupid. I bought my phone in March and ever since then I have had nothing but problems. My phone will restart all the time and erase all my memory and the same as the comments above my phone says DEC 31 8:41pm hhmm today is 9-23 3:20pm mother fuc*ka. I constently lose data and when I called they can never help me or say we never heard of this complaint. Well I am going TODAY after work 5pm to see what they tell me and believe me I will print all this out and other sites I have googled and hopefully they help me. I want to break the phone pay the stupid termination fee and go back to Cingular or pay the high security deposit for VERIZON. Luck is what I need today!!!

    I am so disappointed with the Slide. =( It was cool at first, but now that I’m looking more into it, mainly cause of the discontinuation, I see that there are so many problems with it. I hate the fact that it shuts off for no reason. One time it shut off, came back on, and then it took like a day for my MyFaves, Contacts, Texts, & Downloads to come back. And just today it froze for like 5 minutes. I’m really looking into getting the new Sidekick ‘08. It looks like a sick phone and I’m willing to deal with the swivel to have all the features that come with it! =)

    yeah ive got a side kick slide and mine does this shit all the time. when i open or close the screen it shuts off and resets and takes a few hours to get all my pic and stuff back and today it deleted the myfaves app so now im paying for those minutes. now im pissed i thought it was just my phone. thanks for the advice.

    i have the slide n have been haveing problems with it but tmobile told me that there is little they can do n the just keep sending me new sidekick slides with the same problems i have been have b4… idk wat 2 do i really want the gphone but breaking my contract is will cost 300+ dollars n going to a different company will cost me 200 dollars not including buyin a new pnone from anotha company n activation etc….. so im stuck.

    man this phone is crap….someone gave it to me.now i see why they gave it to me.now i see why they gave it to me…as soon as you slide it down to hard.it shuts off and i lost all of my info.my text,numbers,emails ect.
