Alltel serves up content filtering, free of charge
Are you a parent that’s worried about what your son or daughter might be downloading / viewing on their mobile phone? A suspicious girlfriend looking to catch your man peering at naked women on that tiny cell phone screen? If you’re an Alltel customer, you’re in luck. The company is set to begin offering a customizable content filter beginning February, 2008. The filter, which will be called the Alltel Parental Controls, will allow curious and concerned minds to filter out undesirable sites from their handsets. A.P.C., which is based on Bytemobile’s Unison ACCESS technology, will be available free of charge. We’re all for protecting the youth from the evils of the internet, but nothing says "Fun!" like a little bit of cellphone-based gambling, right?

I need some advice.
I live in Utah, currently I have Verizon. I hate them because of how expensive they are, and how they always recieve phones last (and usually are the crappiest models).
I am thinking of switching to alltel. Do they offer GSM phones and what is the experience of there coverage…
The only reason I stay with Verizon is because I never drop calls and get service pretty much everywhere.
HELP!!!
Thanks.

Alltel is CDMA only, and is generally considered to have good reception if you are out in the middle of nowhere, not sure about city reception, if you are looking for a carrier with the “my circle” feature, that’s gsm, fairly unlocked, and has generally good prices, you migth want to look at t-mobile. Their coverage is garbage, but you can typically piggyback off of at&t’s network for no charge.

Maybe they could filter those “images” from a little while ago.
