I have had problems with my sidekick slide. I have insurance on it, but I don’t want another one of these phones. I don’t really like Motorola phones, I had a razr before and I had the same problem with it shutting off at random.

I have had my slide now for about 6 months and have only had one occurrence of it restarting on its own. I use it A LOT everyday, so im happy with it.

I’d recommend the paper method. i used tape and paper and its working fine. also you might wanna guide the screen all the way down so its not such a hard close.

I just bought a Side Kick Slide yesterday morning and it was not working by last night. It completely went dead and I charged it all night and it will not turn on at all. I did notice that when I first started charging it, the battery symbol displayed was that it was too hot and not charging. Now, I can not turn my phone on at all. I think it is an issue with the battery, I tried the quick fix with buisness card but that did not work.

I just purchased a new battery so I hope that works.

Any suggestions?

My sidekick slide does the same thing. It is soooo annoying. I’m trying the battery paper thing. Let’s see how that works out! If any1 knows any others ways to fix it. Please share.

i have tha slide too, and like everyone else, my fone shut off wen i would slide it up or down. it was very annoying wen my text messages and contacts would be gone, but tha contacts would eventually come back. i just slide mine up slowly, its really not that hard. my fone hasnt restarted itself since i stopped sliding it up and down so fast.

Does anyone know if T-Mobile is still honoring the upgrade to LX–or something else–for Slides that are still having these problems? Bought one for my daughter in Feb. (not knowing the history, of course!) and we can’t get rid of the Activation Screen, plus it has shut off a few times and lost her contacts. Who knows what the current policy is?

I paid 300 for this phone. I have the sidekick slide. It continues to often reset itself. The blue light will blink for a few seconds than all my numbers erase. I have to reset the time as well. Only good thing is i am able to import my numbers because they are saved to the sim card.

I am an aussie and am currently on my hiptop slide wondering why it turns completely off when I slide it down to fast. Motorola should be able to fix the problem easy.

Is it really that hard?.. I’ve come accustemed to sliding slowly but try telling others not to slide fast.. They look at you weird and freak out when the phone turns off..

Im only a 14 year old kid and I got the phone end of last year and I’ve had nothing but problems it turns on and off by itself bluetooth does not work when it does turn back on I lose my theme and have to re buy it it also freezes

I bought the sidekick slide in december and within the first few weeks i noticed that it kept shutting off. I thought it was just me turning my phone off accidently, but then i noticed that it would shut off on its own with being touched. By now I’m best friends with the people at T-Mobile, but they all say the same thing. “Just hard rest your phone.” I don’t think they realize that i don’t have to do it because my phone done it on its own. I’ve never been a fan of Motorola because they always made shit phone. Now i invested in a 300 dollar phone of theirs and its has a bug. You would think that they would fix the bugs before allowing the public to buy their products. I’m extremely disappointed.

if not from tmobile store you have to call customer care via not your slide to do a warranty exchange. they want you to use a different phone so they can ‘trouble shoot’ which is lame because they know what the problem is, obviously.

The iphone had major problems and apple came out with update for bug fixes so moto should come up with over the air updates that fix the problems I say get the lx its better

i got the Slide after i had problems with the sidekick 3 for like a day. i fell in love with the design and color, but got impatient when the activation screen hadn’t gone away for 2 days, i called customer service and they told me to press the settings and L button to speed up activation, it worked, but then the phone started to turn off every time i shut the screen, which then deleted all my contacts and messages, and when it turned back on, the activation screen showed up again. so throughout the day i have to deal with all these glitches.

i called customer service and they told me that ***whoever has the slide should return it to the retail store they bought it at and exchange it for an sidekick LX***

inconvienient much? why should i have to go back to the store? they should take care of it for us, afterall we payed THEM 400+ dollars for it
