Best Buy’s Black Friday plans go public

The Friday after Thanksgiving is, without question, the craziest shopping day of the year. Companies go all out with promos, deals, and sales trying to lure customers and earn a significant percentage of their yearly income in the process. There’s often a bit of mystique that goes along with the actual deals, and stores are notoriously closed-lipped about just what they plan on offering. Best Buy’s ad has hit the streets a bit early this year, and it looks like consumers are in for a bit of a treat. The deals for this year include:
- eMachines Desktop computer with 17" LCD for $200
- Canon Digital Rebel DSLR bundled with a 75-300mm zoom lens for $549.99
- Philips Blu-Ray player for $399.99
- 47" Westinghouse LCD HDTV for $1299.99
- Xbox 360 bundled with Guitar Hero II and controller for $349.99
Not bad at all!

Not bad but I think Circuit City might have them beat…except for that eMachine.

I haven’t seen a target ad yet, but a manager from one of them said they have a hell of a deal on an LCD, like a 32″ for something in the neighborhood of $450..

LAME. This year’s Best Buy black friday ad is pretty weak. So is Circuit City’s. Even some of the things they had at last years black friday event are higher this year. Disappointing.
I hope they come out with some last minute deals once they realize no one is getting excited about this ad.

Now if somebody could throw in a 32″ LCD HDTV for like $300 and Vizio is as low as I’ll go.

They could do better than that. I’m just not impressed, I expect wal-mart will blow that away.
With the laptop and hd-dvd player secret buy Wal-Mart done in the past few weeks at black friday prices. I think it was around $348 for the laptop and $98 for the toshiba hd-dvd player.
This just gives you a taste of what the biggest retailer can do for you when they have the buying power you get with the size they have. They have been known to break down boundries before and I wouldn’t expect anything less this year.

Have you ever waiting in line for the so called specials? It sucks and I’ll never do it again.

I may snap up one of those eMachines!
$200, will she run Vista basic?

If that Canon DSLR is the XT then it’s too much. If it’s the XTI then it’s worth it.

Maybe you have misinterpreted the Canon Digital Rebel XTi deal? I think it is:
$549 for “camera only” — I am assuming they mean the body plus the 18-55 kit lens.
-OR-
$699 for the body, 18-55 lens, 75-300 lens, bag, extra battery, and UV filter.
These are decent prices for this camera — Costco, Sears, WalMart, etc bounce around the $550 mark for the camera with one lens. HHGregg appears to be selling this on BF for $499, but it’s unclear what lens, if any, that includes.
Sentoria — if you can find the XTi
