RIM sues LG over the words Berry and Black
Welp, we didn’t see this one coming, eh? RIM’s now heading down the legal warpath again, but this time it’s the one pulling the trigger, and it’s aiming at LG. RIM’s in a tizzy over LG’s handsets named “Black Cherry” and “Strawberry”. They’re saying these names hit too close to home, and the best part? Go grab some popcorn first. Ready? RIM is ordering for the complete destruction of any and all LG phones that contain the words “Black”, “Blue”, or “Pearl” in their name. To LG’s credit, Verizon had approached RIM first about trying to clear the names, but RIM declined and LG and Verizon decided to run with it. ok ok I can see if they’d get angry about “Blueberry” since a lot of people make that mistake..and hell I’ll even give them “Blackcherry”…but STRAWBERRY? Please. Someone’s legal department clearly has some free time on their hands.
I love my Blackberry as much as the next guy, but this is just dumb.
RIM should know better, after all the crap they’ve been through.
Yeah they’ll build the litigation costs into the price of the 9xxx series cause their should be no way they get anything awarded to this on these.
Does this mean we’re going to see a delay of the much anticipated Black DingleBerry?
They tried the same thing with the Samsung “Blackjack”

Lg lifes ghetto they should think of model names like the crack house the drug dealer the smugler the piimp the ileagal the crack head after all lgs main custumer is starpped for cash by the time they want or need a cheap handset.

Verizon’s crying on the inside I’m sure, as two of their 31 flavors of the Chocolate are being sued… It’d be nice to se them off the shelves..
