T-Mobile Shadow Unboxing

We’ll save you the gloating about how we did this first, and leaked this, and reported that before anyone, let’s just get to the damn device already! The T-Mobile Shadow is officially available today, and here are a couple of our first immediate impressions from the unit…It’s extremely small, and dare we say, fun to use? The scroll wheel takes a little getting used to and it doesn’t behave how you’d think. Each click on the scroll wheel isn’t a "click", you have to scroll the wheel almost 1/4 of the way to register a response. In addition to being the scroll wheel it is also a four-way navigational pad that helps when you want to zip through things instead of messing around pulling "wheelies." The T-Mobile Shadow features one of the best displays we’ve seen on a Windows Mobile device — so crisp and bright — totally hot! There’s a new homescreen UI on here, and basically what it does is simplify the most commonly used applications and functions to the main page of the phone. You can shoot off a text message, browse the web, connect to Wi-Fi, and more all with a few "scrolls" or clicks. The only major drawback to this device is that once you’re used to 3G, it is pretty hard to go back. But, if you’re riding it out on T-Mobile and want something a little more fun, you can’t beat the Shadow for only $149. Check out some snaps in our gallery!

Anyone know if the shadow accepts SDCH cards? This would be a nice device, but only adding 2GB wouldn’t cut it.

Yes it does accept SDHC cards

I’ve had the shadow since the beginning of October…and only a few complants.

1)being the battery life (you better have a car charger)
2)it’ll freeze sometimes, but that’s only when I’m heavy in the programs
    3) real color selection on the shadow native interface…its a brown color and that UI won’t change color.
    4) OneNote Mobile isn’t syncing with my computer

Other than that I love the phone. Awesome and very fun phone…

Anyone know if the “blazing” fast hi speed is better on this phone vs. the BB Curve on Tmo? Inquiring minds want to know!

Wow that looks really nice, mainly the screen, but the rest of the thing looks great. I think tmo really got a winner here.

the shadow sucks it is the worst phone HTC has ever made, everyone will have their own opinions about the device, but being a tmobile pda rep the shadow is going to cause alot of issues, especially if you do a sim swap but ill let all of those who like the phone so much find out how much fun it is to do that,

HAVE FUN WITH THE SIM SWAPS!!!!!!!! LOL

funny… I put my sim in a phone at the tmobile store, took their sim out first of course, and it worked…. just fine. Either tell us what you know, or stop making stuff up.

    rage2k5 says:

if you have a data plan on the device and you try to swap sim cards the new sim will register in the device but you will not be able to make or recieve calls unless the new sim is provisioned for data if it is not the way you have to do it is put the old sim in the device do a master reset then put the new sim back in just so you can make or recieve calls test the background too that way you can see what im talking about ( copyrighted info will not show)

    redsoxchamps2k7 says:

Tmobile can reset the phone without the old SIM if that were to occur. The phone is not dead if you don’t have the old SIM. That’s just a crazy thing to even suggest.

Dear chicken little(rage2k5), I’m in a retail store, we’ve sim swapped, there is no problem with making calls. Turns out the sky wasn’t falling, ya jerky.
