Sprint set to unleash new $30 BlackBerry data plans
It looks like Sprint is getting ready to drop a new BIS add-on plan for its BlackBerry subscribers. Beginning November 4th Sprint users will be able to select a $30.00 BIS BlackBerry Power Vision package. This is one hell of a package, sporting unlimited web browsing, email, IM, Sprint on Demand access, Sprint TV, Sprint Navigation and more. It also lets you rock out with unlimited text messaging! A comparable plan from T-Mobile, the previous budget winner, would run you $34.95 including the unlimited SMS. Sounds like a steal to us. The plan does not, however, allow for tethering. That feature will run you an extra $15 a month. Even so, we think current and prospective Sprint ‘Berry customers are going to be happy today.

first of CDMA carriers charge more than GSM ones. second sprint has this nasty little habit of over billing there was a class action lawsuit a while back on this. also since the GSM based device market is bigger manufactures will prefer to crank out new models for the gsm market.
if it dose well they make a CDMA varient but it takes a full year because the circut board needs to be redesigne to lack of the simcard slot and to put the EPROM in
I must be in exception. I have only had one bad experience with Sprint customer service in over 8 years. They went out of their way in my opinion to ensure that I was satisfied and followed up again to ensure that the resolution was satisfactory.
I have not seen what every one else has seen. I rarely go into a sprint store except to touch and feel a phone I am thinking about adding to my account. I am glad that all think that this is a step in the right direction for Sprint. Lets see how it plays out.
I have only had one maybe two really bad problems with Sprint which got all sorted out once Sprint saw all the facts and they gladly fixed the problem for me.
this makes getting a BB much more tempting. I have a Mogul now and love it. I’ll probably stay with the Mogul since u/l data and u/l text cost me a total of $8 a month.

this was posted YESTERDAY, somewhere else … thanks chris
Wow this is a sweet plan with the Sprint TV and Nav, this basically makes it a Premium pack for BB. I like!
But since I already have SERO, I would be paying double to get a Blackberry.
No sale.
Not to spoil the party.. But from what i hear 30 dollars is going to be the starting point for all black berry plans.Verizon is doing the same thing when they launch the pearl 29.99.
hozay:
That’s also how people get their accounts terminated. It is in your contract that you won’t use the wrong service with the wrong device.
Whether At&t actually checks, – I doubt it -, is another thing. :-/
Besides, if they were REALLY slick, they’d be using the 29.99 Smartphone Personal Max plan.
I have an invitation for SERO, would this be better or SERO?
@curupira…
I was a Nextel dealer/service center for 8 years prior to Sprint stepping in, so my experience is more than first hand. After 2 years of dealing with Sprints pissed-off customer base, and getting zero dealer support, we finally dumped the dealership. I know what I’m talking about, and I’ve seen things cusumers would never see.
6 months? Riiight… you just hold on to the dream and see where it takes you.
This is great! It will save me $20 a month over $500 on a two year contract. If you dont want the $500 because your job is GREAT let me know and I will be happy to take it of your hands. This while I just updated my 8703e with 4.2 OS that was released last night and gmail going to 2.0 makes for a pretty good night.
oh and I never have to use customer service. I will take the speed of sprints EVDO over the slow XXX t-mobile or at&t any day. LOADING LOADING LOADING!
Does anyone know how to get free tethering?
On old phones, I was able to a workaround and did not have to pay for it. Is this possible with Blackberries and Sprint???
Been 16yr plus without customer service. I’ve always assumed customer service was as poor as customer relations! Meaning, who in the hell cares!
This is NOT TRUE!!!! I just called customer service and they have NO idea what I was talking about. This is about the 5th thing concerning sprint/blackberry through BG that was wrong sense I’ve been reading BG which has only been 5 months! Get you facts straight!!!!!
I tried calling for the new plan too and got no where.
Nope, this is not on their web site. The sprint site still shows the same old $39.99 unlimited plan.
I still have hopes this is still true.,.. Currently there are no Blackberry phones that Support SprintTV, so they might be waiting for the Pearl
Hello all, the plan is a new plan so of course the sorry reps at Sprint don’t know what it is. luckily when i called yesterday i was able to get a rep that was able to assist me and i now have the $30 BB power vision pack. so if they said there wasnt one, they are wrong. call back. while i was on the phone with them 2 of my co workers also added it to their BB plans. the only way i speak with sprint is through corporate because i can never never ever get answers from the CS the have answerign the phones. Butm yesterday i got a rep, we made the chnages, and i am good to go. please just try it again. you can use that $20 on something else, and who wants to give them free money anyways. i like my service, i buy new phones from them literally every 3-3 months when they drop new ones. i am a gdget geek. so i am happy other than the CS part of Sprint. they really suck a&&

Just tryed again and got NO where! The rep told me she has the same screen as I do when going to sprint hence if its not on Sprints website its not on hers. She ended with ” Sir All available plans in your area will show up on our website”
This may help a little bit. since they are in the process of chanign everyone over from the nextel network and moving them to sprint the new system they use is called Ensamble. that is the network that i am on now. that is more than likely where they can find the plan. i can assure you that when i asked about it the rep said “oh i see that plan here” he explained it in great detail and all. he was selling it to me although i called in to request that package. try that and let me know what happens. remember the Ensamble network is where you need to be and only cetain reps have that already.
SERO plan are great but they dont cover BB usage. if it were a regular PDA you’d be doign good because it cover EVERYTHING. But for BB if you want to use email and BB service you have to add a pkan on to that also.
thank you Tiffany for the info. on SERO.
My husband just got a BB 8830 and the brochure said the BB plan was $30. He took it to work to get all set up and they had to call Sprint who said the plan was $39.99. We will take Tiffany’s advise and call back and inquire about the Ensamble network. I will not take no for an answer, we just upgraded 4 phones and I will cancel it all if I have to. Just like Sprint, I knew it hadn’t gotten better.
Elizabeth, you are right. I feel the same way. These companies need to have their employees on the same page. they are hands down the worst customer service i have ever had to deal with. i love my phone and my service si good, but to call and get help is worth me giving up. i can’t take it. i now go directly to corporate, because its a waste to talk to regular reps.
