While Google fell short of Microsoft in the bidding for Facebook, some are speculating that they may not have needed it in the first place. The rumored “Maka-Maka” from Google is supposedly a week or two away, and will be their answer to the ever-popular social networking craze that has hit. Little is known about it at this point, but given Google’s access to your life and interests, it seems like they would be good at social networking, considering it’s all in the matching of folks with like interests. Maybe they should start a dating service. Third party support for this is said to be high, with most of the application being open to developers. All this translates into what is probably going to be a soft-launched, under-developed product that will see decent strides quickly, considering the apps Google already has access to, as well as support from 3rd-party vendors. Rumored date of launch is 11/5, but expect that to see a delay.
