I wouldn’t say I laugh everytime i see an adult pull one out a the bar, but I really laugh when I see someone, or encouter a customer who decides they want it to use the sidekick as a business phone. The shadow does so much more than the LX, and for the price its definately a much better value.

does anyone know if there is going to be a specific plan for this device? i guess its possible since this is going to be a new line for tmobile like the sidekicks

i would definitely consider this over the sidekick lx if it had a phone specific data plan like the sidekick

you just cant beat unlimited text and data for $20

Why any phone over a sidekick? I don’t know.. probably because sidekicks are for 16 year olds. I laugh hard everytime I see an adult pull one of those out at a bar. The pearl does everything a sidekick can do, and it’s tiny. A sidekick, however, is awesome if you want to throw it at someone to hurt them.

I will be picking up one of these to replace my pearl. I actually like the suretype keyboard and having seen a dummy unit the keys are about twice as big as the keys on my pearl.

As for why this and not a sidekick. 1)its smaller 2)its cheaper, 3)the letters on the sidekick lx keyboard are really small, 4)there are a ton of great WM apps out there, 5)if you dont text alot i dont see the benefit of the sidekick

I still can not get over fact that it doesn’t support UMA calling, I still cant understand why. there is another windows mobile smartphone that supports UMA calling(look on umatoday.com for that phone), so I do not believe it when they say they are still working out bugs on that. This would have been perfect for me, it would have been enough for me to buy their @home service.

a 2.6″ display on a non-japanese slider phone is a great feature if you ask me. I’m impressed. Who actually manufactures the phone for t-mobile?

It’s a pretty good concept with poor choices made on the colors and keypad. The UI and the price are pretty good. Over all it is a pretty solid phone and unbeatable price. I hope it will soon support hot spot @ home.

It’s supposed to support hotspot@home, supposedly, after bugs are fixed with the Windows Mobile 6 OS. I keep reading in the posts that it should be available — I’m guessing with a software update — at the beginning of next year.

I am really looking forward to this phone. It makes using WM so much easier than on the Wing or Dash.

On a side note, why can I not access the full http://www.boygeniusreport.com website from my phone anymore?? It was pretty nice it the past to be able to but now it is so limiting that it takes the fun out of it.

I was at a T-Mobile store today and a rep pulled one of these out of his pocket. Not bad but the color (sage green) was beyond ugly. The interface was also sporting some serious ugly. If they had improved the interface design and consulted someone that knows green is fugly then this might be a bit more exciting, sadly.

I’ve seen a couple of reps with these and they are actually nice looking, but the UI can get a little sluggish though. The scrollwheel lets you glide through playlist and tracks. Real nice for the price.
