RIM updates Yahoo and Google Talk IM clients

Research in Motion updated their Yahoo and Google Talk clients for BlackBerry devices to version 2.0. These are available for download by accessing http://mobile.blackberry.com on your BlackBerry device. It would appear the update includes better contacts management, as well as contact picture enhancements (aka avatars and buddy icons). The Yahoo client, still blocked by AT&T for reasons still unknown, also reportedly adds interoperability with Windows Live Messenger and file sending capabilities.

Native apps are better UNLESS they are blocked for reasons unknown. I have to agree that Jivetalk is very a sweet app.

do these apps work over the internet subscription like jive talk or count as text messages?

and to bgr, your circuit city ads are very very irritating, make them stop.

Downloaded the new GMail app for my BlackBerry and love it. One question: how do I get my contact photos from Gmail on my desktop to load on GTalk on my BlackBerry? There’s a spot for contact photos, but it’s greyed out, and I can’t figure out how to get it to populate.
