RIM’s new domain names – BlackBerry 9100 and 9300 series on the horizon?
It seems our friends up north decided to get a little busy in recent weeks, registering a number of new domains in mid-October. It looks as if Research In Motion intend to keep their naming conventions in line with the 8000 series family - at least for now. Although we’re sure we missed a few, here goes nothing.

Earlier this year, RIM agressively acquired blackberry9100.com and blackberry9900.com from private holdings to mark their future product brands, leading many (including yours truly) to believe these to be the launch families for the 9000 series. It now appears the BlackBerry 9300 series will join the ranks and pick up the next generation footsteps of the Curve family, as well.
Up next: RIM will launch the all-new E-series and N-series device families. Just kidding, but the current naming schemes certainly have a Nokia flare to them, ey?

Just received a 8830 for work today. I have decided that I need a device that is more than a phone but less than a BB and WM device. What phone meets that need?

The only thing that meets that would be an iPhone. It’s not as good as a WM or BB device but it’s much better than a cell phone.
It blows because none of these websites actually work, but go figure since they were just registered. Can’t wait for them to be up and running.

No, I don’t think they are necessarily supposed to work yet.
All RIM did was register the domains, thus calling “dibs” for future use.
Personally, I wish they would all stop screwing us around and make the complete phone/PDA and stop just adding this and then leaving this out, etc. 3G, WiFi, GPS, etc, and oh, don’t let me forget, be a great phone too!
and the BB fanboys rejoice….for something that wont be here for another two quarters. And that will by that time be lacking something because of RIM’s slow response to new tech, and their excuse of security.
Hmmm…. at&t will probably see some of these I don’t know, late Q2 or early Q3 2008. So that means VZW should see them around Q2 or Q3 2009, lol.

what you could do is actually get the iPhone and if you don’t like it return it but if you want better-than-cell-phone-not-as-good-as-BB-or-WM then that is like your only option. I can’t think of anything else better suited for the job.
