First Look: BlackBerry Desktop Manager 4.3
We will start this article off by stating this is subject to change prior to public release, however, here’s your first look at BlackBerry Desktop Manager 4.3! We’ve not yet fully uncovered what it’s capable of, although from first impressions, it doesn’t look like much more than a visual upgrade of the initial application view, as well as an updated version of Intellisync. Also bundled with this version of BlackBerry Desktop Manager is an update to Roxio Media Manager, now sporting some advanced encoding options and enhanced support for other video formats.
No word on a release date, but with the BlackBerry 8120 being recently launched with OS 4.3.0, we’d have to think that BlackBerry Desktop Manager 4.3 will follow at some point soon thereafter. Then again, we have yet to hear about the BlackBerry 8120 actually being available from any of the pre-launch and launch carriers in Europe (Telefonica/Spain, TIM/Italy and O2/UK), so who knows.
Rest of the shots, after the break!

I’ve uploaded the download to rapidshare…its much faster to download…here are the links

Does anyone know if this new version will allow you to sync to Windows mail and calendar? These programs are supposed to be the successors to Outlook but you are still unable to sync with them!!

There’s one thing I find annoying about this newer version - there’s no option to ‘keep it running’ in the task bar when minimised - on the older one there was… a slight oversight, or am I missing something? Have looked but can’t find the option to enable this..

This due to VBScript not registered in your system.
The VBScript engine can be quickly registered by following these steps:
1. Run Command Prompt as administrator
1.1 Start Menu -> All Programs -> Accessories
1.2 Right click on Command Prompt and select Run as administrator
2. cd %windir%\system32
3. regsvr32 vbscript.dll

A Mac version would be greatly appreciated, and good business. Mac is making huge gains in the IT industry and unless RIM wants to see their market share decrease as people switch to Mac to avoid Vista, they’d better smarten up. Calendar synchronization is another huge problem - people are moving towards online-only AJAX email solutions, leaving Outlook behind.

I’m running into the same problem with 4.3…NO MEDIA MANAGER! I’ve tried repairing, modifying, and re-installing on Vista. Same problem for 8300 and 8800. Has anyone figured out why?

I’m trying the solution to the 2738 error that involves running as an administrator. How do I do that? That doesn’t seem to be an option.
Thanks.
