T-Mobile’s MOTORAZR2 V8 gets officialized

If you really didn’t see this coming, then, well, we can’t help ya’! T-Mobile has gone ahead and made the Motorola RAZR 2 V8 officially available as of today. We got a chance to check out the OEM version a couple months back, and it looks like T-Mobile didn’t overly pimp the customizations which is always a great thing. Specs you’ll by now, like the GSM/EDGE quad-band radio, 2 megapixel camera, dual high-res screens both internal and external, 2GB of internal memory (non-expandable) and the MOTOMAGX platform we love. T-Mobile has added a couple of included songs for free, in addition to a 30-day free Napster trial and myFaves support. You can pick these up for $249.99 with a two-year agreement starting today.

my only beef so far with this phone is that both screens are the same size. i would think that with such a huge external display, that the internal would be a monster. not the case……or maybe i’m just asking too much
Battery life is the issue with this phone. The size of the display is not an issue for me.
Now mobiles have sequels, trilogy isn’t far i guess.
Yeah the battery life isnt that great but you cant turn off some of the feedback options such as the vibration when u press external keys and that should save you a bit of juice
Looks like opera mobile 8.5 is gone. please tell me i’m wrong
Over-hyped, all style, no substance, so last century…Why no Fm radio or Wi-fi. Why does it still have qcif low quality video capture? This is just a pretty, pretty makeover, not an upgrade. It has 2 gig storage, So what? Guess I could store all my low resolution videos on it. Could-a, but would-notta
last century ? but you want a fm radio ?
haha
Battery Life: this model has the best battery life of any RAZR2 model so stop bitching. 8 Hours talk is pretty damn good when the V3i only gets 5. 8 Hours is great life for a phone like this. And if you want more turn the brightness down and screen vibration.
Opera probably is gone because T-Mobile wants you to just use WAP on these phones. go download opera mini for it or flash it with a stock MP once they come out.
And both screens are not the same size it’s a 2″ outside and 2.2″ inside.
and jason, name another slim phone that has an FM Radio? in fact name more than 5 phones sold in the US that have FM radios.
And the stock moto MP allows for 480×240 video. not sure what the t-mobile one allows. But again name some phones that have good quality video.
hmm, my only problem is with the price. For 249 I can get a blackberry instead. I would have thought this would have come in cheaper, but I guess it is a new phone. To much for me to go and get one right now.
“Now mobiles have sequels, trilogy isn’t far I guess.”
Haha… that’s pretty funny.
But what about Sidekicks?
Sidekick
Sidekick Color
Sidekick 2
Sidekick 3
Sidekick iD
Sidekick LX
Sidekick Slide
And if you want to you can count all of the limited editions.
So this is what our world has come to?
it’s not that mobiles have sequels it’s a name/branding.
Playstation 1, 2, 3. Xbox, Xbox 360. Sidekick, Palm Treo, ipod, zune.
The only reason why this is called the RAZR2 is because it is the true successor to the original V3 not just a few minor upgrades.
Yet to be released T-Mobile’s 2 Megapixel flip Nokia 6263 will have 640×480 vga capture, not the thinnest phone, but also has Fm radio, micro-sd up to 4 gigs and 3G capacity…,or it’s overseas cousin already released the Nokia 6267
Oh, and most (not all) Sony and Nokia’s have Fm radio. Moto has yet to jump on the bandwagon except for the higher end phones.
I purchased a RAZR 2 and its an all around great phone. The camera quality is fine, compared to my previous Sidekick 3. Im still not sure if I’m going to pick up my Sidekick LX tomorrow morning but maybe I will, I do have it on hold! Got the first reservation card from the one store in Chicago to sell them on the 17th. Woot!
who needs radio? i actually thought i was gonna use the radio on my motorola E2 (one of the reasons i chose E2)… but i dont even bother to use it…:) who needs radio when u have mp3??
I had the razr2 for a week, took it back for a refund. The phone worked great, but I couldn’t get past the price of the phone. I’ll get it again when the price comes down. Email worked clunky… if you read a message, it automatically deletes it from your phone with no option to set so it doesn’t do that. In other words, you can’t save emails.. as soon as you read it, it’s gone.
Sort of lame. Has to be a s/w issue or something.
Hey everyone,
I was looking online for some information regarding the battery life on the Motorazr2 V8, because I’ve had to fully charge it twice in the past three days that I’ve had it. And I’m really unlike most girls in that I honestly don’t use my phone very much. I make maybe one phone call a day, but my battery keeps losing power rapidly.
I saw some people talking about turning the screen button vibrations off. How would I do that, as I hate it anyways? Any other ideas for preserving battery life?
Could it be that I’m opening the screen too much just to check out the phone? I haven’t had a flip phone in a while, while so I’m kind of excited about it. Could that be draining the battery?
Thanks for any feedback…
