BlackBerry Curve 8310 Unboxing

It seems it was just a couple days ago that we were making predictions on the BlackBerry Curve series and what sort of features it would sport. Would it have GPS? Would it have Wi-Fi? Would it have GPS and Wi-Fi? By now, we know the answers, but nevertheless, there have been a ton of people annoyed at the fact that they left GPS behind when they switched from the BlackBerry 8800 to the BlackBerry Curve. While not officially available from AT&T yet, the BlackBerry Curve 8310 has started showing up in stores across the country. The launch date looks like tomorrow October 16th, so get ready. In the meantime, check out our photos of the Crimson-colored device!

UPDATE: There seems to be a lot more contrast on the 8310’s screen. Not sure if I love it or hate it yet. Will post some comparison pics shortly.

Anyone have base pricing on the 8310 vs. the 8300?

I bought the 8300 a few weeks back, and now I’m wondering if I can swap it out for an 8310.

a tip for those of you having a problem with getting that first GPS fix…

First go outside (open sky)… then go to options/advanced options/GPS, then click menu button, and select “Refresh GPS”

The first time can take up to 4 minutes (but usually a lot less)

I purchased one yesterday afternoon through Telesales. Had to check to make sure that it was the Curve 8310 (took awhile). The local stores (LA) only have the red one; wanted the Titanium one.

How far off do you think an 83xx with camera/wifi/gps is? I’m 75% sold on the 8310, but I don’t want to do it if another 83xx with everything in it is going to drop later this year.

I have to choose between the 8300 and the 8800 — any thoughts?

The tradeoff seems to be camera/smaller size for 8300 and GPS for the 8800, as far as I can tell. Anything else? what would you guys pick?

OMG!!! the curve is the best one out of them all. i was deciding between the curve, the pearl or a black jack. the blackjack is uglyier and doesnt have a scroll and its to busnissy, the pearl is too small and its hard to text and it cam out earlier then the curve so the curve has better features and the curve is easy to text pretty and perfect size!! get the curve its the best!!!!!!!!!!!
