New T-Mobile Sidekick Plans have Unlimited MMS
Remember that new T-Mobile Sidekick Unlimited plan we told you about a while ago? Well it seems that T-Mobile has another trick up its sleeve. In addition to changing the price point from $20 to $19.99 (yeah, we’re serious), the company is also set to include unlimited MMS. Sure, it sounds like a feature that should have been added years ago, but keep in mind that the upcoming Sidekick Slide and Sidekick LX are the first handsets in the Sidekick family to be MMS-capable. Any new customers that buy an LX or Slide out of the gate will be automatically placed on the new Sidekick plan, but existing Sidekick users that upgrade devices will have to manually migrate to the new add-on. Anyone else getting way too excited for the October upcoming launch?
Thanks, Tmobphonehome!

Any chance there will be an over the air upgrade for the Sidekick 3 that enables MMS? I think it’s possible because the latest Blackberry 8700 OS upgrade enabled Bluetooth file sharing, I don’t see why they can’t add MMS to the Sidekick 3.

Seriously shoulda been added along time ago. I used to pic message from my razr when I needed to mms cuz I didn’t know it was unlimited and I got charges $5 extra >=[. Not that much but hey $5 is $5 right??? Yeah sk3 needs a ota for mms support. I want the LX but don’t have money right now so if I get a OTA I’d be happy til I get the $$$ together

So we have to call customer care to change the sidekick plan?

Why not just send pics via unlimited email plan?

@ Steve, coz not everybody got sidekick or smartphones. Its a lot easier and quicker to send mms from sidekick to razr phone.

Hopefully there is a ota update I’d love to have this on my sk3

@ nofx, I don’t know if you know but hiptools.net has somesms—-emails gateways every phone veen razrs have emails such as (10digitnumber@tmomail.net) if you send it there the razr phone will receive it and hiptools.net has the addresses for about every carrier, so the sidekick 3 does have picture messaging.

I been looking for greener pastures lately and have been test driving the latest smartphones @ various cellular stores and I have to tell you there is nothing out there to compare to the upcoming SK. I suppose I have been spoiled by the landscape screen, roomy keyboard and easy navigation that offers a much better smartphone experience. That settles it, I’m staying the SK and looking forward to 10-24.

@extremo.. no offense.. haha.. omg.. that path has been rediculed, munched, chewed up, smacked, slapped around, torn to shreds, debated, stretched out, heated, shattered, and generally spat out by many, many sidekickers. its a process that works–but is very, very tedious. im sure you dont use it yourself as much as your post suggests.

so does that mean:
if you get the Sidekick Unlimited Plan WITHOUT anytime minutes, it will be $19.99 alone?
OR
does that mean:
by signing up for a 1 or 2 year contract,
you will chose your anytime minutes plan,
AND on top of that you get the Sidekick Unlimited Plan for only $19.99?

my friend has a sidekick 3 on the suncom network and he can mms, and record a 15 second clip and use it as a ringtone, tmobile will lose money if they allow that in the U.S.

1 question….is MMS picture messaging or what??

the sk LX and SLIDE supports picture message. the plan you need to have is the one for 19.99$ not 20$. you can change the plan at any time. and you can call cx care to upgrade your phone and plan . and stores will have the lx on the 24th.

The lx would be perfect if only it were able to watch, receive, make, record, see youtube clips that the only reason im leaning towards the nokia n95 or iphone if only vedio capable the sidekick would be great it alt to have these features as much as they cost and as many models of the sidekick been put on the market you’d think they’d include all the coolest apps. ,features, vedio pic., all the latest technology ya know ? Drag it out long as posssible.get evey little dollar imagineable.motorolla def. Has the tech. Why not give to us allready ? Im not wasteing any more money on sidekick untill they make it cool as it should allready be……………
