TELUS launches HTC Touch and HTC S640
Today is a big day for our friends up North. Canadian telecommunications company TELUS has announced not one, but two brand new HTC devices for use on their mobile network. First up the HTC Touch, This is the same phone that we all know, and today’s announcement marks the first official arrival of the device on North American soil. Sporting Ev-DO connectivity, this hanseat comes complete with HTC’s TouchFLO interface, which is a pleasant shell for the Windows Mobile 6 OS. Next up is the HTC S640, which is like of hybrid between the Motorola Q9 and the new Palm Centro. Not the most attractive device, but new phones are always good, right? Plus it’s always nice when we get a heads up, too! Both devices will retail for $149.99 with a 3 year contract, $399.99 with a 2 year stint, $449.99 for 1 year, and $499 outright.

I think LAG is the key word for this device, from its start up time to it’s lock and unlocking on the key pad.. I try very not to try and throw it at the wall on a regular basis.. our company had 4 and I am the last.. the rest all got returned after 3 strikes..EACH…
I hope the new one I have waiting will fix it otherwise I will have to try something different…

I need to do a software upgrade for my HTC s640 and I only have a Mac! Are there any downloads that I can use or anything?
I’ve had the s640 since December 07 and it’s been pretty good. I do get it freezing and I have to take the battery out and reboot, but it’s always come back on. I do, however, want to know how I can play a simple freakin’ youtube vid on it though. Who uses WMV?
well this is gay, i though id find a website telling me HOW to play youtube videos. not other people with the same freakin problem
ask me anything u want ive totally hacked this phone…THE S640 …First off install smart toolkit (google these) and install the mac osx theme or faux yahoo but the osx one looks awesome .streaming media, i connect wireless to my modem an watch youtube videos or just download sky fire and its full fledge flash.there u go any questions here i am curtiscorreia24@hotmail.com
Windows mobile sucks! Had the s640 when it launched. Did not like it. Got me a v9m then a curve then a storm and now on the tour wooohooo.
