MySpace to launch MySpace Platform for applications
MySpace is set to unveil a competitor to Facebook’s applications. The new service, simply titled "MySpace Platform", will allow 3rd party developers to write and design widget-like programs to run within MySpace. This is an exciting move for a company that has been, up until now, remarkably resistant to change. MySpace Platform will essentially function as a set of APIs that will allow developers to include Flash Applets, iFrame elements, and Javascipt. See, the thing is, the applications themselves will be hosted on MySpace’s servers, and we all know what that means — slow down city. The cool part (or potentially disastrous part, depending on how you look at it), is that developers will be able to embed their own proprietary advertising in their applications, allowing for quick and easy monetization. No word on whether this will be open to any / everyone, or if there will be some sort of developer certification process, but all should be revealed in short order. Seems like Facebook might have a bit of competition. On second though, never mind.

If you have seen any of the video that bgr has put out you would have to know he is not that old judging by his hands in the video’s. This dave person is far too old and hairy to be BGR. This is one fun mystery for avid readers though.
