This is both useful and stupid. Steve you make a valid point, I could imagine someone who has kids and the kids would become irritating by playing with the sensor or clapping on purpose.
Also this means you have to sit exactly still or else the sensor will think you are trying to change the channel everytime you reach out to grab your drink =P

Wouldn’t voice just give control back to the tv?

Without a remote, I can just see the fights in the family room because somebody’s annoying brother or sister started waving arms!
